Stephen Drew
John Lackey
Ryan Dempster
and taking on Peavy's money.

so...you wanna amend this stupid post to something like, "as oppose to a team that spent too much to try to get into a World Series"???

and the last part of my post was about how i hate both teams...idc how you build your winner.

I'd rather have Schwab tattoo Red Sox suck on my stomach than read that post again.

You're out of you mind if you think the sox had any intentions of buying a World Series this year. That's called filling a roster, not buying a World Series. All of the guys they signed were bridges with to their young group coming up. They have to fill a roster to be somewhat competitive.

You haven't read or heard anything Stan Kasten has said since becoming CEO of the Dodgers.

The money was to give starved Dodgers fans a competitive team while some of our prospects develop (Lee, Seager, Pederson etc.) and while he creates a pipeline of drafted and international players that is self sustaining.

Sounds similar to the post I'm quoting.
So what you have here is a question of degree - how much spending you think is buying a WS. You do not have a question of either of these teams intentions being similar, by your own admission and me reading Stan Kasten's stuff daily.

Most important move we've made as a franchise is becoming bigger players internationally in terms of scouting. Puig, Ryu, Alex Guerrero soon, the Marmol trade...all corollaries to us becoming bigger international players to become a self sustaining org that develops it's own talent.

We are not the Angels or Yanks...one trick ponies that spend and can do nothing else.

Try again.

What are you a Dodgers fan or something? Who was talking about the Dodgers, bro? You said something about the Red Sox buying a world series, and I laughed and thought, what an irritating post.

Why would I give a damn what the Dodgers did? I have nothing against them.

I read ur post as highlighting a difference between the two because you quoted my previous response to the other jerk who said we tried to buy a World Series.

As long as you're not hating...me no care.

What's the basis for this prediction? These teams are actually pretty evenly matched.

Ugh hate this match up. Only thing worse would have been Boston-Atlanta.

Go Boston though I guess. Still hate the Cardinals after last year. :(
