You're changing your argument. Sorry for having to quote this to you so many times, seeing as though you were wrote it, but here it is again:

Hanley for example, posted far worse defensive rating at 3rd when he was moved there with his last season as a marlin than he ever did as a SS.

He had plenty of seasons with a worse UZR/150 than 6. And I'm not convinced if you recalculated his UZR/150 it would be miles ahead of -6. And no, I'm not doing your work for you.

so come again?

I try to be civil with these Dodger fans, Tyrus, but they can't help themselves with their little comments. I cannot be held responsible for my actions.

lol recalculated UZR according to my premise gets him closer to -5 than -6. but if you doubt my algebra, prove it you lazy student of SABR. and fYI, i never changed my argument that it is harder to find a good overall 3rd base than a good defensive SS. you need to prove to me how i am wrong on this.
ehhhhh f it.

The A's and Jays just swapped Josh Donaldson and Brett Lawrie. The Jays also threw in a few decent prospects, including Franklin Barreto.

Look at Billy Beane dumping all his minorities.

I guess we should have settled on the definition of miles before you got your calculator out.

Donaldson to the Jays. I like what they're doing. Don't they need some pitching though?

personally, I would never question what Billy Beane does in terms of baseball decisions. of course they need pitching but Im sure he is not done with his moves to improve the A's.

PS- Im sort of glad that you are not one of those mods who abuse their power for his own ego. I have been banned from my previous site due to arguing against a laker mod in my own clipper forum which did not have its own mod. you are alright in my book.

Why wouldn't you question his decision making? The guy gets crowned for being really great at making his team incredibly mediocre.

you have to account for the majority ownership. the Oakland A's majority ownership just does not want to invest in payroll. for the limited salary usage Billy has, he has been spectacular in terms of his moves. not winning it all is unfair as in a short 7 game series anything can happen. that is the nature of statistics.

I get what you're saying, but my rebuttal is: the Rays, Pirates, Royals, and Orioles.

All of whom have built contenders, pennant winners, and damn near pennant winners in less time than Billy Beane has tried and failed in numerous postseasons.

which none of the teams you mentioned have won the World Series, and none of them have been as consistent as the A's.

I rest my case.

He'd probably be more productive than Travis Outlaw.

If he plays defense like he does at 3B a cardboard poster would be more effective.
