Even thought the Cards crapped out this year, at least I can enjoy the fact that the Dodgers and their zillion dollar payroll choked in the playoffs.......again.

The Mets and Cubs are going to play each other in the NLCS.

That sentence is blowing my f*cking mind right now.

The last time the Mets went to the World Series, George W. Bush was a month away from being elected president for the first time.

The last time the Cubs went to the World Series, George W. Bush was being conceived.

I am not joking.

Should be interesting to see what happens with the Dodgers this offseason. They've been built to win the last few years and have done nothing but hit a wall in the postseason.

This is honestly me not mocking Quake, I just have no clue where the team goes from here.

Quake is a good guy. All the Clippers fans on realgm are pretty cool actually, but another Dodgers' elimination loss is something the whole family can enjoy.

Probably the most flexible $300 million "built to win" team you'll ever see in the history of sports.

My guess is you'll see big changes at the manager and a few position players.

I doubt you'll see any changes in how this operation is run. Kasten has said from the beginning that he's playing the long game with this team and Friedman and Zaidi's moves seem to indicate that they're playing the long game as well. The depth in the organization is great - far greater than it was 365 days ago. I dunno if I've ever seen something like that.

Since this FO has demonstrated that it will eat a significant amount of money to build its depth down under ($86 million of that $300 million is being paid to players for them to play somewhere else), I expect players like Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier to find a ticket out of town, regardless of if they have a buyer (Andre should have a buyer after this season if we cover a portion of his money)…and…just speculation…I expect the FO to focus on the core of Kershaw-Joc-Seager AKA clear out any clutter in the clubhouse that is a distraction or hampering their development (Joc and Seager's).

Biggest question mark…Greinke.
If anybody gives him over 5 years…let him walk and take the compensation pick. Don't hold me to that but those are my thought on that.

Dodger fans should be furious at their management, imo. They have a stock pile full of young talent and just one of them could have given them a proven #3 starter. As soon as they lost game 3, the series was over.

Would've been the same if the Dodgers won and the Rangers didn't sh*t the entire state of Texas' bed.

I'm curious to see if the FO actually does pull the plug on Donnie this winter. I imagine it would happen sooner than later so he could look for employment elsewhere.

As much as I lamented Cashman throwing bundles of money at people, I would think the Yankees would be team 1a and 1b in trying to get Greinke. That rotation needs a true #1 so desperately right now, and I'm not sure Tanaka can be that guy with his already cluttered injury history.

Only team I wouldn't have bought in May was the Jays.

I have a post around here somewhere telling folks the Mets were gonna be on sooner rather than later while everyone said they wouldn't sniff a division until a year or 2 from now….but yea, who wants to find that after an L?

Again….I don't think Greinke will pitch in NY. He's said that he wouldn't and Cashman agreed it wasn't a good idea. I never picked up why he could handle LA but not NY (probably out there and I just haven't read it) but he's said so. He probably stays here or bolts to SF.
But by all means…if he's gonna go, you guys take him and keep him out of our division rivals hands.

You've gone on the record as saying you hope they let him walk. If he's walking to the Giants, would you change your mind?
