I love the fact the Yanks got McCann, but I'm not a huge fan of the deal.

It'll be nice having a catcher who is competent in more than one facet of the game for the first time since Jorge was in his early 30s.

He's great for that ballpark. My fantasy baseball team is thrilled.

I'm happy for McCann. He really needed the chance to DH and getting to do it in that park is a nice bonus. It should really help his second half production.

Huddy and Mac were the last of the old guard. Kind of sad, but also the right time to move on.

I think McCann is being over paid. If he can produce and not be on the DL every other week then ill warm up to the deal, but idk something about a deal that is 85 to 100 mil for a guy that isn't healthy all the time just scares me a bit

If he can split time between catching and the DH spot, he'll be the best the Yanks have had by miles since Jorge retired.

The Cardinals have handed Jhonny Peralta a 4-yr/$52 million deal.

I wanted the Angels to trade Bourjos to the Mets. Would you have liked him on that team?

Honestly, he doesn't do much for me. What were you hoping for in return from the Mets?

For Bourjos, because we'd be selling low, a couple of pitching prospects would suffice. Montero and Tapia would've been enough for me.

I don't follow baseball as closely as I'd like, but what makes Bourjos much of a prospect or have a lot of trade value?

AFAIK Montero is a primo trade chip and prospect, I'm not so sure I'd call it selling low. Going just by stats Bourjos looks like a young guy who's been in the league like 5 seasons yet can't stay on the field either due to injury or underperforming and has been a bucket of average at best.

I don't mean that to sound like I'm trashing him or being defensive, I'm also not even saying I'd say no to that deal, was just looking for some legitimate enlightenment on Bourjos and what makes him such a get?

Montero for Bourjos would be far too much for the Mets to give up.

Eh...

sometimes home growing everything doesn't work out.

fortunately for the cards, this isn't a 2 jillion dollar deal so it wont be viewed as "buying" a shortstop because Kozma and Carpenter can't hit.

yea, I'm a mad dodger fan.
get over it.
and no, i wont get over it.

Jim Johnson the new closer for the A's. Jemile Weeks and PTBNL to the O's.

Tigers sure are saving some money. Don't really like the deal for them. I thought Fister was a good pitcher.

2 years at 22 Mil sure seem like way too much to be for Scott Kazmir. Not sure what the A's see there.
