why? you know something about Santana that we don't?

that wasn't my point of this post or quoting you.
i wanted to ask....if you thought the Bravos would trade us B. Beachy for a decent farm arm.
we'll wait on him to heal and get right....I just want him in a Dodger jersey

^ Wasn't he tied for 4th in the AL in quality starts last year?

Santana was good last year and he'll be pitching in the NL now with one year to earn his next payday. He was terrible in '12, but with the way our rotation is hurting right now, he's a solid addition.

And Beachy is too handsome to trade.

Feel terrible for Medlen. I don't like the Braves but I don't wish injury on anyone. Prefer our best to beat their best.

well...for Medlen...at least he knows he's not the 1st guy to go through 2 TJSs.

Chris Capuano and Ryan Vogelsong come to mind.

The AL East was already the weakest division before the Braves started hurting. Nationals are in prime position to run away with it. That's what everyone was saying last season too though.

Now Beachy might need Tommy John :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I hate spring training injuries! So meaningless

Freddy Garcia and Alex Wood need to step it up this season as the number 4 and 5 guys, when Minor gets back.

You mean NL East...and yeah with now Beachy possibly gone for the year there are no excuses for the Nats. But you know the Braves are always going to be there fighting, nobody except maybe St. Louis drafts and develops young talent better.

The Tigers have acquired two shortstops in the last few days to platoon for Jose Iglesias, since he looks to be out for most of 2014. They got Andrew Romine from the Angels and Alex Gonzalez from Baltimore.

I bring this up for one reason: Holt crap, Alex Gonzalez is still playing professional baseball.

BBBBIIIIGGGG Gamble. History isn't in his favor, he had one other worldly season, the rest haven't been nearly as good. But with a Free Agent market looking weak for arms, he'll get paid regardless.

And as scherzer turns down the tigers offer the tigers go ahead and extend Miguel Cabrera to a 10 year 300 million dollar contract! Wow he will definitely be a tiger for life.

I understand that he's great and all, but a 10-year deal to a guy who is about to turn 31 and started to show signs of wearing down last season?

Crazy extension. Can't imagine too many GM's thrilled after hearing about it.

Trout agrees to a 6-year deal with the Angels, starting after this season. I believe it's worth $140MM.

Wow. What does he need more than $144M for? What does anyone need more than $144M for?! Insane for a pitcher of his caliber to risk going another year without locking that deal up. Anything can happen.
