Re: 2014 Offseason Thread
I think it would have to be a knock you off of your feet deal to deal Gattis with him under cheap control for so long.

Gattis as an everyday DH could be dangerous.

well Jays front office suck some salty balls and even though my cousins reside in Toronto, i don't really care for that franchise at all. so **** em.
Wow, uhh, **** you too.
We still have plenty of holes right now. LF, CF, 2B and a 1B/DH type. We also need/want a left handed hitter to mix things up.
We could put Pillar in LF, Pompey in CF and one of Izturis/Goins/Travis at 2B, but that kinda gives us 3 8/9 hitters in our order, and outside of the top 5 (Reyes, Martin, Bautista, EE and Donaldson) its pretty weak.
I hope we can get Melky back, and also add 1 of the 3 top starters out there (doubt it, but who knows). We can most likely make it work salary wise.

would you take Carl Crawford, a left handed LF who hit .300 last season, for Dioner Narvarro?
ehhhhh f it.

Re: 2014 Offseason Thread
Knowing the Jays, they'd still find a way to finish two games over .500.

wow.
is this how white folks talk behind our backs?
I live in a tiny little town as how you say it... a "minority" professional and only family of my ethnic background in my town, and have never been told anything negative. in fact my family is thriving in here and we don't ever know that we are not of the same race, ever. it is only when i go back into the cities, like the last time i went to Gustavs in Portland, was told to go find a Chinese Restaurant to eat.
jFYI, Im not even Chinese.
Oh wow, lord have mercy on your family.

You've made your points. All we can do now is leave it to the intelligence of the other posters to decide whether -5 is miles better than -6, after ignoring Hanley's worst season.
By the way, if you're interested in continuing a conversation with someone on the internet, don't finish every one of your posts with a line from a dance battle movie, and drop a subject when it has clearly run out of steam. You're beating everyone into tedium with your non-stop posts.

FYI, Hanley's 3rd base UZR/150 was -6.8.
and thanks for a life lesson of internet, I was running a site on SABR back in 20th century, thank you. were you even out of high school? I wonder.
and sure, I will drop the subject now you can no longer defend your position. how convenient.
ehhhhh f it.

I have no position. If anything, I said that the results were inconclusive at best and couldn't be used in your argument. I really just wanted you to defend your statement. When I asked you to cite the 'rating' you were referring to, you linked me to a pretty awful fangraphs article that had little to do with what you had claimed. Then you pointed to RZR and tried to hedge by coming up with some modified UZR number. All you had to do is tell me the 'rating' you were referring to.

This is why mods ban you. It's not because you argue with them.

your position was that Hanley was better off at 3rd. now you seem to change your position.

Re: 2014 Offseason Thread
Read the conversation. I spent 4 or 5 posts just trying to get you to give me the 'rating' you referenced. When you didn't, I got exhausted and gave up. You are incapable of addressing what is being asked of you.
We speak a different generation of English. Yours is evidently a 20th century version that I'm not privy to, and you can't seem to grasp my modern take on the language. There's a gap that we cannot bridge, so let's stop trying.

now you are lying.
we have addressed the "rating" to be "metrics" long while ago.
