Got back from my 2 week vacation to see the Nats actually gaining ground in the division. Losing Zimmerman again though... :(

Yeah, with Zimm out til from what I've heard September we need another infield bat.

Rizzo typically doesn't make big moves at the deadline though, and he'll never give up any decent prospects for short term moves, so we'll see.

Starting tomorrow the Braves will play the Dodgers 7 times, Nats 3 times, the Ms twice in Sea and the As 3 times in a 3 week span.

it could be RIP Braves.....

Cuz the Dodgers are winning all 7 8-) and the other teams will be tough too.

The Nats blew one tonight, that could have a lingering effect but lucky for them we are in a tough stretch so it may not matter.

Yep, blew a 6 run lead in the 7th in Miami.

Rafael Soriano has not been good post All-Star break. Seems to be getting hit hard. Guess he was due because he's not good enough to finish with a ~1 ERA.

Really hope Stras brings his A game tonight. He's usually at his worst when we need him to win us a game the most. Heard a stat that he's the only P that has not won when the team is coming off a 2 or more game losing streak.

Hope the Dodgers can help us out, like we did for them when we took 3/4 vs. the Giants earlier this year to help turn that division race around. :D

Just pulling your strings a bit there.

Not pulling your strings on the next 3 weeks being difficult though.

Kid's playing out of his mind.

Was great to see Kemp go yard twice as well.

Our pitchers have a way of turning the Dodgers into the '27 Yankees. Kemp goes over a month without hitting a HR and we give him two in one night.

And our hitters have a way of turning opposing pitchers into Cy Young.

Stras goes 7 IP, allows 1 ER, gets a loss. :banghead:

Go Dodgers go!

Jose Abreu for MVP or his team isn't good enough?

In my mind, it's a three horse race between Abreu, Trout and Adam Jones.

I kept on saying the trade between the A's and Cubs was not a good trade by the A's because of letting go of SS-Addison Russell. RHP-Jason Hammel has been terrible and RHP-Jeff Samardzija is average. If you going to trade SS-Addison Russell, you better bring back a really top player. RHP-Dan Straily, OF-Billy McKinney, and SS-Daniel Robertson for RHP-Jeff Samardzija would've been better.

#1: LHP-Scott Kazmir
#2: RHP-Sonny Gray
#3: RHP-Jeff Samardzija
#4: RHP-Jesse Chavez
#5: LHP-Tommy Milone

Yea for only 3 months

The Cubs trade is looking worst and worst each day. A trio of LHP-Scott Kazmir, LHP-Jon Lester, and RHP-Sonny Gray is good enough to win the AL West and in the playoffs. Trading away a talented 5 tool player and a star in the making in SS-Addison Russell who's only 20-years-old for RHP-Jeff Samardzija who's average and RHP-Jason Hammel who's pretty pathetic was a bad trade. The Jon Lester trade makes sense because Jon Lester is a proven winner and a proven good starting pitcher. The trade for Jeff Smardzija and Jason Hammel doesn't make sense at all especially giving up a very good young SS prospect.
