2014 Offseason Thread

Post#345 » by Da Schwab » Tue Dec 9, 2014 1:26 pm

So let me get this straight, Billy Beane is continuing to unload all of these minority players and no one is going to bat an eye?

But seriously, he gives up Addison Russell for Samardzija, who then goes and gets a lesser prospect from the White Sox to fill the gap? Obviously we won't know how they'll work out til we see them play, but why is Billy Beane still considered a genius?

Oh, and good for Dave Robertson, I guess. Apparently that fourth year was the hang up between his people and the Yankees.

I wouldn't doubt that at all. Theo is a goddamn wizard or something.

Samardzija going to the White Sox gives them a pretty dominant 1,2 punch with Sale.

Besides that does anyone really think that the Cubs are gonna sign Lester? I know money does wonders for players especially one who has multiple rings but does he really want to keep winning or is he all in for the money at this point in his career? I understand that Theo is a mastermind and the Cubs have a lot of young talent but I mean common. Im not saying this bc I'm a Sox fan but IMO if he goes to the Cubs its a mistake. I would rather him go to LA or SF bc he would have a chance at winning.

Im not saying he is but would you rather a 1-2 punch of Sale and Samardzija or Sale and Quintana? Having Quintana as the 3rd starter is strong and he will get better pitching match ups

I'm saying they have a pretty dominant 1-2-3 punch.

Cubs have acquired Miguel Montero.

I really like the move. Montero was elite at pitch-framing this year.

that one particular mod keep replying then deleting is getting real old now.

if you got something to say it, say it. if your reply is something you don't want public to see you as, then keep your silence from the get go.

just a little advise from an "old" timer from the 20th century, as you once put it.

did you honestly think that was the correct response, a decently close interpretation of the prior post, or even remotely a clever of reply? :noway:

I'm sure living with your mom has its perks, but at some point, it helps your life when you actually grow up, son.

it also help your perceived image over the net when you can bring a half way decent, sound argument for a change time to time as well. doesn't this juvenile sound bite replies ever get tiring?
ehhhhh f it.
