would you work a whole year for free?

this explains why I moved out of that place.

yikes.

well i didn't do much better as i used to live in Washington where there is no state income tax but when it came to buying my own practice, I had to be in Oregon as my inlaws aka grandparents of my kids were here. the state of Oregon have 9.9% state income tax rate for my income bracket.

at least there is no state sales tax. so go nuts shopping!

PS-which reminds me, when you graduate from Wisconsin's Law School and have your license to practice, consider the states with no state income tax such as Washington and Texas. it does make a difference when you are just starting out. say hi to your dad and tell him I would love to get together for some wine and talk about UCSF. Adios, brother.
ehhhhh f it.

State income tax only applies to the games u play on the state

Compared to Chicago, sf might as well be LA.

I give it about 3 possibly 4 years

It was a good sign for the Cubs though if Arrieta can be anything like he was last year and if Jason Hammel can be what he was before he got traded then the Cubs top 3 starters won't be anything to laugh about. I like what Theo is doing with this team

and no, not really. I never had chills and shiver through watching a sunny afternoon baseball game on weekends at the dodger stadium. it used to be real windy at the candlestick but the pac bell or whatever it is called now, gets pretty damn cold. try it someday.

Yea, SF weather is its own animal. I still love that place when we're not talking sports.

But still, give me a spring and summer in Chicago over that. To me, nothing is better or shines more bright than the midwest after winter and Chicago is the cream of the crop. So many things to do and it seem like everybody participates because theyre tired of being trapped in the house.

Oddly enough, Minnesota is a great place to be in the summer too.

on a baseball note:
I know players take their own stats and park effects into consideration when considering where they're going to pitch.
Lester has been letting more flyballs in the air lately. SF had the better offer (from what I've read in this thread). Seems like a no brainer.

When they hired Maddon, I said something like they'll be there by 2018. I think they could mount a Marlins-esque run and make it next season. They won't in '16 because the Giants have already beaten the Red Sox in 6.

Out of Lester and Joe Maddon i think the bigger pick up in the end for the Cubs will be Maddon. Look what he did for the Rays who have as little money as they do and now with the Cubs who have money and prospects to play with could be big for them. I could see them make a WS run in a few years as long as they don't do anything dumb to mess it up but with Theo calling shots i don't think that will be the case

Big move for the Cubs but signing Ps to huge deals is always a risk and with that organization's history, I think it's a little silly to be talking World Series. They also play in a brutal division.

I think you're underestimating the fantastic mix of incredibly talented youth and great veterans that Theo is assembling there. Obviously, it could all go to hell in a handbasket pretty quickly, but I think they're one unfortunate injury for the Cards or Pirates from being contenders in the Central.

Rollins to the Dodgers.

It'll be odd seeing him out of a Phillies uni.

Wow! Dodgers trade Dee Gordon to Marlins for Andrew Heaney.

Great deal for both clubs, but I think I like it for Dodgers more. Guerrero will add some pop to 2B. Wow. Didn't see that coming.

It'll add some good speed to the Marlins lineup, too. They need that.

I'd laugh if they got Heaney to flip to the Phillies for Rollins.
