John Maine should get some serious consideration for a reserve pitcher in the NL.

Hard to not include Lackey, Escobar, or Beckett tho. I think those three have had better seasons than CC or Carmona.

Here are the starters I picked numbers:

Dan Haren- 9-2 1.78ERA 0.90 WHIP
Chad Gaudin- 6-2 3.05 ERA 1.41 WHIP
Josh Beckett- 10-1 3.14 ERA 1.07 WHIP
Justin Verlander- 9-2 2.78 ERA 1.13 WHIP
Kelvim Escobar- 9-3 2.81 ERA 1.11 WHIP
John Lackey- 10-4 2.96 ERA 1.22 WHIP
Gil Meche- 4-6 3.21 ERA 1.29 WHIP

Indians
CC Sabathia- 10-2 3.34 ERA 1.15 WHIP
Fausto Carmona- 8-3 3.21 ERA 1.25 WHIP

No if every team didn't need a rep, I would have Meche. But he's the only legit rep for the Royals. After that it looks like the last spot comes down to Gaudin, Sabathia, and Carmona. You could also include Johan Santana in the discussion. The next starts are very important for these four to make it to the game IMO.

Figured if I did the AL I should do the NL as well. Quite a few more changes. I hate not having Jose Valverde not on the team, but it was him or Fuentes. I went with the lefty. I still think Gorzelanny and Snell is too close to call for the Pirates, but made the switch to Snell. Adam Dunn has also really picked it up and I felt he needed to be adding leading me to take out Carlos Lee and replace him with teammate Roy Oswalt on the roster.

Id say that Brandon Phillips deserves consideration for the game. He's right up there with Uggla and Utley IMO.

Aaron Hill should definetly get conseration at 2nd base. He has been the best allround 2nd basemen in the AL for sure. He excellent defensively and make impossible plays and he leads the team in RBIs

Ben Sheets should be in there. JJ Hardy should replace Jimmy Rollins. Ken Griffey Jr. should be starting.

I took all stats in to consideration. Rollins and Hardy were close, Griffey and Byrnes were close.
Rollins .284 13HR 45RBI 14SB 93H 60R
Hardy .285 18HR 50RBI 0SB 81H 42R
Everything is close, I gave it to Rollins.

Byrnes .313 12HR 42RBI 13SB 97H 47R
Griffey .290 21HR 46RBI 2SB 72H 42R
Again close. Griffey is hitting a good deal of home runs and has 4 more RBI, but Byrnes is up on him in everything else.

CC pitched a complete game in the win last night facing the A's while outdualing Gaudin, who by the way went 6 while giving up 3 in the loss.

CC's updated stats
11-2 3.24 ERA 1.14 WHIP

Im gonna go ahead and guarentee that he will be on the all-star team. :D I mean 11-2?? That has to put him in.

I'm not saying he's not a very good pitcher. Problem is there seems to be quite a few of them. A lot will depend on who they send from teams like the Royals or Drays.

Reyes is the only one that deserves it over Renteria. And I only say that because of his stolen bases.

You remind me of those idiot sports writers who are in love with RBIs and HRs.

Hanley has had a better year as well. They're very close in OPS but Hanley has 17 more steals. But I will agree Renteria should make it over Hardy and Rollins.
