Prick now huh? Keep it up if you'd like a suspension to go with that warning.

The two best teams (record-wise in baseball) although the Orioles have taken the 2nd spot I believe.

Anyways, the Angels certainly treated the A's like the reigning division champs that they are and took the series seriously heading into it. The A's caught the Angels at the end of a road trip a week or so ago when they last played. The Angels had Weaver, Wilson, and Shoemaker going against the A's, their best starters since Richards went down with a season ending injury.

Again, I only say it's not that surprising is because the way each team was trending in this second half so far. It was a home series for the Angels. Hell, I can't remember the exact number but the Angels made up like 9+ games from the A's in like 2 weeks or something like that, so I guess that's not why it's that surprising to me.

Just the timing of the matchup, that's all.

Am I suppose to step down and kiss the ground you walk on so you can call people ignorant? I have been called by a N word countless of times and still no criminal background whatsoever except some street sweeping tickets and you get all defensive when someone stands up and called you out after calling someone ignorant? It's a two way street "mod."

If you want to call people ignorant, don't expect people to let that verbal attack to continue and not do anything back. Is that clear? I'm here to talk about baseball NOT fighting with others.

TyCobb wrote:Then you're just ignorant of the opponent. The Angels bullpen has been very good since acquiring Street(hell, since trading Frieri for Grilli) and their offense, with the AL MVP Trout, has been great all year.

But yeah, the A's are pretty bad since Kazmir has come back down to Earth.

Whole lot different than saying you are ignorant on all topics and in life in general.

Thanks. Don't take it out on them though. They're not the biased ones, I apparently am.

Now on to baseball.

Living in the Bay Area, Giants always has this spark towards near the end of the regular season and especially in a even number year. Right now, the Giants has that 2010 and 2012 kind of spark again hitting to the final stretches of the season.

I think you're grossly overreacting. If it were two weeks from now, I would understand, but give them those couple of weeks to either right the ship or completely sink it.

Also, I highly doubt the Tigers would start Verlander in that Wild Card game, if it comes down to it.

In a do or die one game for the Wild Card spot to end your season or go to the playoffs against the Oakland Athletics, Justin Verlander is 13-5 with a 2.18 ERA all-time record against the A's. Yea I highly doubt the Tigers would start Verlander

And he's been pretty dreadful this year, by his standards.

If I'm putting someone from Detroit's rotation on the mound in that Wild Card game, regardless of opponent, it's certainly not going to be Justin Verlander.

Yes he has, but he's money against the A's no matter what his record and ERA is.

Who's your choice then from Detroit?

Its over for the Braves, we need a major shakeup in the offseason. A new coach, GM, and most of all CF.

Braves offense is sorrier than its been. And that's saying something.

RoyalMajesty wrote:I really didn't expect the SF Giants to be back in the race for the NL West title. What's going on with the Dodgers? Bullpen? Hitting? Fielding? Starting Pitching?

They've played 4 against the Rockies, 3 against the Brewera and this series is another 3 against the Rockies + an extra make up game against the Rockies.

I think anybody would love to play the Rockies 8 times in two weeks....add that the Brewers have just lost their 7th in a row, I'm struggling with whether they're just hot or lucky.

Over the same stretch the Dodgers have basically played .500 ball.
6-4 over our last 10 (bare with me, I'm doing it all from memory because I'm on my phone). It's not bad unless the team that's chasing you is like 9-1 over their last 10.

Over that period of time what has hurt the Dodgers:
1) Injury: to Ryu (2 weeks), Greinke (skipped a start), Hanley and Uribe (2 weeks)
2) Dee and Puig have slumped. Puig has been all time bad. Dee is just struggling a but lately. These things were more pronounced with no Hanley in the lineup.

Cliffs:
We're healthy now.
We have everybody back.
Our pitching will shut down the rest if September and lock up the division.

Well time to focus on the Wild Card now, The Braves could end the night only a 1/2 game behind the Brewers for the second WC spot.
