Beltway Series or bust IMO.

Gutty 7 innings by Fister last night. Felt like a playoff game.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

I'd watch the crap outta that series, but it would tank in the ratings because of what Quake mentioned.

The east coast wouldn't give two sh*ts about it, even though (arguably) the two biggest stars in the sport would be front and center.

I disagree. The LA market alone would kill it. The Lakers have proven this. SoCal would be buzzing.

The Lakers are a Yankees like franchise....or the Cowboys. They have fans everywhere. Kobe gets MVP chants in places you'd rarely expect to give a damn about LA.

The Dodgers, while a cornerstone franchise and having a solid attendance on the road usually, are not that franchise.
And the Angels....I mean...lol, theyre the angels. no diss but come on.

it would have to be carried by the star power of Puig and Trout. I'm not sure the east coast would give a damn at that point.

And im saying the SoCal market would make the east coast viewers moot. Dont underestimate that bandwagon population of SoCal.

Here's the reason why I think you're wrong, not that it's something blatantly obvious, but the Lakers draw such a huge crowd during the playoffs because the NBA postseason falls during a window in which there's essentially nothing else happening. Sure, you've got the early summer in baseball and hockey's postseason, but the World Series takes place in the middle of college and pro football season, where even with a lead-in from one of those games, baseball's playoffs will never draw as much in primetime.

I think an LA vs. LA World Series would have the most viewers since the 2004 WS.

Don't get me wrong, it deserves to. Like I said, it'd be a matchup of arguably the two best players in the league, but I don't think it'd draw that much attention on the east coast.

I'm just hoping we don't draw dead with some crappy series like Cards/Tigers.

Like I said, my argument has been that it doesn't need East Coast viewers. LA County, Orange County, Riverside County and San Bernadino County are some of the biggest counties in the entire United States. They are all located in Southern California.

Now with that said, it will help that Trout comes from New Jersey, so you know all of Millville would be locked in too.

Stras needs to ether the Braves today so we can get this sweep and basically dagger the NL East.

Marlins only 3.5 out of the second Wild Card. Man imagine if they had Fernandez...

It's pretty pathetic with their payroll they can't win 100 games

I would love to see what Billy Beane can do with some of their money.

Are they hitting at least? The A's are downright pathetic right now. Self-destruction at it's finest.

Sarcasm on the 100 wins comment?

They're 90 - 55.
They need to go 10-7 for 100 wins.

I was never really impressed by the Brewers. They have no pitching at all. Pitching will always give you a chance over 162 games.

As much as I hate the Cardinals, they are always tough and know how to grind over 162 games. And I'd love to see the Pirates make the Wild Card over the Braves.
