If Giants sweep the dbags today, they'll be 2 behind the Dodgers with the weekend series against them at home starting tomorrow

It's pretty pathetic with their payroll they can't win 100 games

I would love to see what Billy Beane can do with some of their money.

Sarcasm on the 100 wins comment?

They're 90 - 55.
They need to go 10-7 for 100 wins.

I'm saying for a team with a high payroll and all their big name players, they should be getting 100 wins or close to it every year. This year, they will probably get it unless Mike Trout smacks some woman and was caught on tape and will be suspended for the rest of the year. Then the bandwagon Angels fans falls apart.

I don't get people's big occupation with money. Is it your money? Are they taxing the people to pay for the team?

They overpaid for Albert and Hamilton. Cool. In no way did they "buy" a team that is just a slam dunk 100 game winner every year. So I don't get the relevance of the money. You're laughing at their financial situation?

Last expensive super team that [should have] won was the 2011 Phillies.

If anything in that argument, the Dodgers should be expected to win 100+ every year, not the Angels. At the beginning of the season, the Angels weren't even in the top 5 of highest payrolls.

That argument should only exist when discussing teams who are in the luxury tax bracket. It's in the name. ;)

Typical Bay Area fan.

Pump up the other teams, so my team can have underdog/ "us against the world" status.
2 World Series in and still playing this pathetic card.

You had a payroll of $235 million before the season started, which was almost $30M more than the 2nd place team (Yankees).

The Dodgers clearly overspent to patchup holes on their team because the new ownership didn't want to open up their regime with trash on the field.

Sure the number is high. But nobody looks at that team as if it's leaps and bounds above other elite teams. The money was never spent to make us the 98 Yankees.

So...again...I guess...LOL at how someone else spends their money.

No reason to get your panties in a bunch, I'm saying if he was going to make an argument about top paying teams, the Dodgers would be a better example than the Angels.

I love it when there's all this talk of buying a team and no one talks about the Yankees.

Feels good.

Well, not really. They're not getting anywhere near 100 wins. Or the postseason. Or youth.

fireworks in SF tomorrow.

Playoff atmosphere.
Intensity. Passion. Wouldn't be surprised if a brawl broke out tbh.

Schwab. Me no care about east coast bias. All [MLB] eyes need to be on SF this weekend.

I love that you guys are investing so much time on the Giants/Dodgers series this weekend....but how is there not one mention of the Stanton injury? I hope he makes a speedy recovery, it's a shame to see his MVP season come to an end.

Yeah, brutal injury. Stanton is a monster. He KILLS the Nats(well he kills everyone in fairness)but I don't wish injury on anyone and actually like watching him play. I feel bad for him. Dude is having an MVP team and in some ways was carrying the Marlins to a near Wild Card birth and now he gets hurt.

Nats win their 12th in a row at Citi Field. I love that park. It's like a second home field for us.

Leave the home field advantage alone. Shoot for 2nd. Then you see the Cardinals.

1) you get retribution for 2012.
2) you don't play the Dodgers or Giants in the NLDS.

The collapse of the a's is astonishing. To think they might not even make the wild card game...
