No really thank you for taking him. That's way too much money for a guy that quite frankly is not that good anymore.

Out-homered 5 to 1 by Uribe and Carl freaking Crawford.

The Indians must've done some real unforgivable stuff at some point to override Atlanta's destiny as complete choke artists.

The bullpen on the NLDS roster was good, but you could make two awesome bullpens with the players who weren't on it due to injury. Wish we could've seen Kimbrel in the 8th.

The Dodgers win gave us this awesome, yet very expensive, GIF of the postseason...

If you're the Dodgers...who do you want?

Cardinals or Bucs?
Tough call IMO.

Home field if it's Pit though

Woo the Barves are out. Good going Dodgers, not that I'm a fan of there's but I sure as hell didn't want the Barves winning.

Complete misstep by Freddy not playing Kimbrel there late. Forget all that closing and save situation non-sense, you gotta put your best reliever in there at the end to give yourself a chance.

You think Kimbrel can get 6 outs?
They do have a good pen.

The Dodgers gave Kershaw the chance to do something exceptional. Kimbrel is the Kershaw of relievers. I'd like to see him get the same opportunity with the season on the line. At the very least, let him pitch to the 5-6-7 guys in the 8th. I'll never understand saving your best reliever for the easier inning.

Schwabby.

i remember the Joe Torre teams when they won. But I was like ages 8-12. Def didn't care about the strategy of baseball at that point...i guess i do remember him up until his last year with the Yankees in that regard.

just wanted you to talk about your previous comment that Donnie learned from Torre.
imo...seemed like Torre was a good manager...no?

Towards the end of his tenure he became incredibly complacent. I'm only 23, but I started really getting into the strategy of the game when I was 13-14.

He was really great at keeping the clubhouse together, even when A-Rod came to town and the media got ridiculous, but he couldn't manage a game to save his life. He mismanaged his bullpens and would never play small-ball, even when manufacturing runs in those situations made sense.

when will the Rays go from the lovable underdogs to choke artists?

mainstream media wont do it to them because they don't spend money?
because they just don't care about Tampa baseball?

Well as far as this season goes the Rays just got beat by a better team. They put up a good fight at home, but the Sox have a better 1 to 25 then them.

Was pulling for Tampa, but the Sawx were just the better side.

Hope the A's and Pirates win their Game 5s, but I think both losing. Don't see the A's beating Verlander or the Bucs beating Wainwright.

Yanks re-signed Joe Girardi.

Here's to four more years (because the FO is afraid to fire him) of mismanaging the bullpen and my drinking problem...

The Rays are lovable?

maybe not to a division rival.

but i do think people have a soft spot for them because they don't have the money.

The A's already beat Verlander in Game 2.

I don't know how you can think about classifying them as choke artists when they played 5 elimination games in ten days (and won 4).

The Rays won 3 straight elimination games but laid an egg in games 1 and 2.

Boston dominated the season series (including the playoff games) 15-8. Boston is the best team in the AL, and probably in MLB.

Starting pitching is about equal, but the Red Sox run the bases better, hit better, and had a better bullpen all year.

Some of the players that the rays have not been able to afford to keep over the past few years are; Carl Crawford,
Rafael Soriano, Joaquin Benoit, Grant Balfour, Matt Garza, james Shields among others.

The Rays bullpen LOST at least 15 games this year after having the lead in the 7th inning or later. Not blown saves, but LOST games. What happened last night was just typical of the bullpen's performance all year.

If anything, the Rays have vastly overachieved.

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
