seriously, this guy seems to be really acting out of his pay and skill grade
http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/ ... j36coSp6OMthis is the 2nd time hes threaten A-rod after this incident...he's prolly just jealous of the HOF while he himself has journeymen status

Even if Braden is a journeyman, it has nothing to do with jealously; baseball players zealously guard their conventions and the quirks of the game, and A-Rod has made a habit out of transgressing against them...the playoff glove slap, and the series against Toronto a couple years back where he both called for a pop-up as a baserunner and earlier interfered with an infielder attempting to make a play.
Now, I find many of those little unwritten rules are silly...if you can gain an edge, gain it. But they aren't silly to the players themselves.

He interfered with an infielder attempting to make a play, oh no. That's never happened before. People love to make something out of nothing, especially in this case (and when it comes to A-Rod). If you have multiple major league players saying that they have never even heard of this as an unwritten rule, what exactly did he do wrong? It isn't as if A-Rod was taunting this pitcher or anything, he just ran off the field but went over the pitchers mound, but this guy completely blew this way out of proportion.

Again, I think that it's silly. Pitchers don't...as superstitious and set in their routines as hitters are, pitchers are far worse, and many of them are very particular when it comes to the mound. I can't remember who it was now, but the Jays had a pitcher who used to walk off the mound to the grass for meetings with the catcher/pitching coach because he was paranoid that cleat marks would affect his landing area. Others put the rosin bag in exactly the same place each time. Roy Halladay has a set number of
breaths that he takes between pitches, for ****'s sake.
Paranoid? Definitely, and challenging A-Rod to a fight is absurd. The point being that A-Rod has wronged before in the eyes of the zealous guardians of all these little in-game inanities, and thus little transgressions like this prompt larger reactions, even if A-Rod had no idea that he was breaking such a rule (and I'm guessing that he didn't).

That's the thing with the silly little unwritten rules...some affected (in this case, pitchers) care, so might not. But I'm sure that he's not the only one who'd take umbrage at a position player treading on the mound.

Braden thinks that he's the 19th pitch in the history of Major League Baseball to throw a perfect game, apparently.

As lame as he has been about this A-Rod thing, it's pretty hilarious that he throws a perfect game after a couple of weeks of people saying "Who is Dallas Braden?"
