Im sure youve seen the footage by now of him not hustling after the ball after he accidentally kicked it away farther

here is more on the story

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5197935

my favorite line:

Ramirez took a shot at his manager on Tuesday for removing him from the game.

"That's OK. He doesn't understand that. He never played in the big leagues," Ramirez said, according to the Post.

LOL ouch

He didn't own his manager. The whole interview makes Hanley look like a douche.

Adding to that, teammates have called him out too.

Great player, but what a knucklehead.

Give me a break. That was ugly from Ramirez and he provided no effort to get to that ball at all.

^ and?

its a 162 games. no one plays hard every play. everyone knows this is more the pattern of behavior than the actual incident..

which makes it even more (Please Use More Appropriate Word) that an apology was demanded. its all moot anyway..hanley will be playing short stop for marlins exponentially longer than freddie will be managing them

Not playing hard every play is a lot different than what Ramirez did.

His less than half-assing it allowed runs to score.

I don't think you can really say that "nobody" goes all out every play. Many players do, because they give a hoot about their team, their reputation, and their careers.

What Ramirez doesn't care about nor understand, is that he just put a stain on his reputation that will never go away no matter how well he does in the future. There is no defense for what Ramirez did.

Unlike other sports, the baseball world NEVER forgets.

Yep. The OP obviously can't read nor understand much here.

Sums him up pretty well. -- This is not the 1st time he's done something like this, it's been done before and then was covered in house, but things came out.

Dan Uggla has called him out before, so have others, but internally. Luis Gonzalez did not return to the club because of Hanley and his antics. Jayson Starks has a good article on some other instances.

He's becoming a diva more and more everyday. Talented, yet just stupid.

you didnt read the cheap shot he took at his manager?

i said 'owns,' espn said 'rips' ....both verbs seem interchangeable to me

see their title of story:

When you act like a **** to your teammates AND management, your words mean crap.

Not giving your all when you hit a ball back to the pitcher that is one thing. Not even trying to run after a ball when guys are running around the bases is something different.

Ramirez should have had to give an apology. If he keeps this up I'm not so sure that Hanley will be playing shortstop for the Marlins much longer than Freddie will be the coach.

^the marlins have to keep him. he's on a decent deal $9-$10M a year for his talent is a bargain and they are going to relate back to the cabrera deal to see that it's absolutely hard to get anything remotely close to value in return for him.

plus, they've got a new ballpark on the horizon. they can't go in their with no player to market it around.

if that was really true, then there really wouldnt have been such a big firestorm over this whole thing

What firestorm? It came to fruition because the manager wanted to make it public and embarrass Hanley this go around.

Jason Stark in his piece from Weds outlines that this type of stuff isn't the 1st time, and that Hanley has done this more times on occasion.

That's all and dandy, this goes back to your OP; when someone as a d*** head as Hanley has acted, decides to speak up for no reason when he was clearly in the wrong is far from ownage. You really need to decipher what's going on here in general cuz you've got very little clue, at all. :nonono:

the premise of the thread wasnt some1 not hustling, but rather his words to his manager, which were brutal, like i said, it wasnt just me, even espn decribed it as 'rips'

Because ESPN said it you are going to regurgitate it?

You can think for yourself, can you not? Oh, wait. You can't. :wizard:
