Chipper Jones
Since there's a great possibility he'll never play again, I figure he at least deserves a thread on the barren RealGM baseball forum. He made his debut when I was 6 years old so he's the only player remaining from my childhood.
If this is how it ends at least he went out on a web gem.

Re: Chipper Jones
You're right, the play he was injured on was terrific, but it's terrible that he might not play again. He's always been a classy player, never was involved in talks of steroids or other PEDs. Definitely one of the players I've always respected for going out every day and doing his job at the plate and on the field.
I kinda think it would be fitting to see Chipper and Bobby Cox retire at the same time, but we'll have to wait and see whether or not Chipper thinks it's worth the time and effort to come back from this.

Re: Chipper Jones
Even though I really, really dislike the Atlanta Braves, Chipper Jones is the one who I've always respected as a player and person. He was amazing for so many seasons. Hell, just a few years ago he hit something like .355. Thats crazy.

My favorite non Red Sox player of All-Time. Really a class act. I hope he does comeback for atleast one more year. If this is the last year he will be in the Hall in 5 years.

Re: Chipper Jones
I knew most baseball fans respected Chipper as a player, but it's nice to see people appreciate him as a person/teammate. There have been few "face of the franchise" players like him. He'll be one hell of a coach if he decides to go route.

Looks like Jones will leave the door open as for his return next year.
