Lou Piniella ends his 40 year MLB career after today's game.

I'm sure Cubs fans will have mixed reactions as he's had disappointing results in Chicago.

While not an icon imo, Piniella's candor and temperament have always been interesting throughout his years in baseball.

So long Lou......

I would go ahead and call Lou an icon for this era of managers. In the last 20 years I don't think there's been a more entertaining manager to watch. His fiery attitude and fantastic tirades kind of opened the door for other managers to go ape sh*t on umps on a day-to-day basis. I know that even in the 50s/60s/70s managers would get in ump's faces, but Lou made it a theater of sorts.

Just watched his post game presser, and it was really hard to watch. He really doesn't want to leave.
