But does he have good enough command of it.

So far maybe not........

He's been clocked regularly at 102, and was clocked at 104 somewhere on the road.

Throwing at 100 mph isn't the end all be all though....ask Joel Zumaya before he got hurt

I kind of wonder about that speed as well. I'm pretty sure that if he throws at 105 mph at the major league level it will be the fastest pitch ever recorded. Also to say he's been clocked regularly at 102 almost suggests that he sits at that speed. As a reliever I guess it could be possible in few innings but I have read that Strasburg averaged around 97 mph on his fastball and it was the highest average since fangraphs started. Most likely his speed is getting overhyped a bit.

if he hit that speed regularly and had some command of it he would be pretty deadly

He'll be like David Price in 2008.

Bob Feller was reportedly clocked at 107, but using less than todays technology obviously.

He pitched again tonight. Slowest fastball was 99.0, fastest was 103.9.

He throws his slider faster than four of the five Brewers starters throw their fastballs.

So did Randy Johnson. Worked for him.

I hope he doesn't usurp the Cuban Missile nickname from Alexei Ramirez. That'd be some bull.

I see a horrible injury in his future if he doesn't dial it down a bit. Impressive as all hell, though.

Throwing that fast has got to be doing some serious long term damage even though the action is pretty smooth. If somebody connects to one of those 105s it will go miles!
