2012 Season Game Thread

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sat Apr 14, 2012 4:19 am

Discuss all the games...................

Texas has started the season off strong. They look like they're ready to make another run at the World Series and Yu Darvish takes the mound tomorrow.

Aaron Harang with 13 k's in 6 1/3 innings last night. Chad Bills looking as good as Kershaw. Could be a nice 1-2 if he can limit his walks.

Atlanta swept the Brewers! Now, the Braves will take on the Mets, and that should be another interesting serious for them.

Overall, I think the season for the most part (all of baseball) has been good.

I'm enjoying the new season, as well, even with the Yankees having some glaring issues.

The offense finally woke up last night, granted it was at home, but still impressive. I was happy with the weekend series vs. the Angels, and how the staff took relatively good care of Pujols.

The starting rotation scares me, though. Girardi isn't afraid to concede runs early, but the staff isn't in good enough form to start bridging to Robertson/Mo early. Rafael Soriano has been erratic as usual, and has already walked five batters in three innings.

Oh yeah, and I give Bobby V until June 5th before he gets canned. He's been talking a lot more than the Sawx FO likes, or at least is used to.

I can imagine that if they're sitting around third by that day, he'll be on the curb.

Did any of you see the last at bat of that game?

Cody Ross was very upset and for good reason. He struck out looking on three pitches that were so far off the plate I'm pretty sure they were in the dugout.

I cannot wait for Pineda and Pettitte to be ready. The Yankees rotation is just dismal right now.

Offense bailed out CC tonight. Wasn't a terrible start, but still not the type of stuff they need from him.

Rangers just destroying Boston. Also didn't know that Vicente Padilla was still playing.

I'll believe it. Sh*t, I think they'll even bring back Tito and try to mount some miracle run that most certainly won't happen.

Also Ty, what's with the Aybar contract demands? Have I missed some miraculous season he's had that warrants $10mil/yr?

I blame the 33-year-old Jimmy Rollins signing for 3/33 million with an 11 million vesting option for the fourth.

The Angels have Jean Segura who is a year or two away, so we'll see if he gets the five years that he is being linked to.

I remember reading about Segura a while ago. Where's he now, High A/Double A?

Yeah, he's in AA Arkansas. He just needs to say healthy though--battled hamstring issues throughout his minor league career.

I would venture to say that Boston fans are rather upset with the bad start by the team, the manager, and the bullpen.

Yesterday's loss to the yankees was epic.....9-0 lead turning into a 15-9 loss.

Sox bullpen ERA is almost 9 runs per game after saturday's tidal wave.
