Is Kris Medlen a dark horse for the Cy Young award?

Kris Medlen has been lights out for the Braves this season and was named August Pitcher of the Month, he has a 1.53 ERA and a 0.96 Whip with a 7-1 record and has not given up a run in his last 38 1/3 innings. If the Braves make a run and win the Divison/Wildcard could Medlen win the NL Cy Young award? Is he a dark horse?

Highly unlikely, anything can happen when the vote is in the hands of people who don't understand baseball, but right now the top 5 should be in rough order of Cueto, Kershaw, Dickey, Gonzalez, then Miley. So if he wins it, it most likely won't be because he was the best NL pitcher of 2012.

Nowhere near enough innings. He has 110 IP. If a player doesn't pitch 180-190 IP, they shouldn't be in consideration for the award, imo.

He's been good but he's nowhere near the likes of Dickey, Gonzalez, or Cueto.

Medlen pitched another great game tonight. He K'd 13, but the Atlanta offense only drove in one run during his time on the mound, but the Braves ended up winning the game.
