Using ONLY players you've watched play. So unfortunately, no Babe Ruth for most of us

Thomas 1B
Bonds LF
Pujols 3B
Griffey CF
Rodriguez SS
Alomar 2B
Rodriguez C

Wait... What? Please explain that comment about Mo.

Also, Yadier Molina as your catcher?

Mo is a great closer....but a tad overrated to me.
he played on good teams...I'd love to see Hoffman get to be a career Yankee like that...Soriano did well this last season.

how good is he vs. how good were his teams?
is the one inning save more important than the type of work Rollie Fingers was doing?
those are my questions for ppl who love Mo (which is everybody).

Yadier is better than Pudge defensively...what he's doing is amazing...think about what i said...better than Pudge defensively.
and I think he's going to age into his 30s better than Pudge cuz his bat is only getting better.
gimme YM.

Well, if that's the case, I'll have to change my lineup quite a bit.

So, you're downgrading a closer because he was able to do his job well? I don't think it really matters what team he's been on. If he were on the Pirates and had a chance to save 40 games a year, he still would've been that damn amazing.

A lot of these were quite close with one other guy, very rarely was it a no brainer or a 3 or more way race.

C - I. Rodriguez
1B - J.Bagwell (3 guys for 2 spots in Bags, Pujols, and the Big Hurt. Feels bad leaving Frank off this list)
2B - R.Alomar
3B - M.Schmidt (would take Schmidt over Cal or other SS's which made Arod's placement easy)
SS - A.Rodriguez
LF - B.Bonds
CF - K.Griffey Jr.
RF - M.Ramirez (If Bonds or Rickey had ever played RF they would've bumped Manny. Couldn't justify Walker.)
DH - A.Pujols
2ndC - M.Piazza
MI - C.Biggio
CI - C.Ripken
OF - R.Henderson
SP - N.Ryan
SP - R.Johnson
SP - R.Clemens
SP - G.Maddux (I have to acknowledge his career, but I'll admit from just watching I'm not sure I'd put him here)
SP - P.Martinez
CP - M.Rivera
SU - D.Eckersley
MR/RH - E.Gagne (for peak not for career)
MR/LH - B.Wagner
LR/RH - J.Smoltz (long relief requires starts and relief appearances to me)
LR/LH - D.Wells (just couldn't think of anyone better, but I hope I'm wrong - should probably just be a second lefty instead of LR)
25thman - (F.Thomas, J.Canseco at peak, or R.Halladay, but I can't pick)

And apologies to some guys I saw when I was young that may be deserving, but I wasn't discerning enough to tell or I never saw them in their prime (J.Morgan, J.Bench, C.Yastrzemski, R.Carew, S.Carlton, T.Seaver and lots more)

no...im taking hoffman and dat dere change up when it's working.
mo seems like the most obvious choice for ppl...well, then boom...here are my reservations with Mo.

and wow...didnt know Wagner had numbers that good...just being honest.

yea, i guess I'm just asking if you put him in because you wanted his bat in your lineup that bad.

theres a number of ppl with decent bats (not great but decent) or better that play the hot corner much better than he did.

Trevor Hoffman's change up was not better than Mo's cutter. Not even close.

9.4 Ks per 9 to 8.3 in favor of trevor says different

Hits per 9
6.9 to 7.0...push

SO/BB
3.69 to 4.04 in favor of Mo

Mo WHIP
0.998

Trevor WHIP
1.058

Trevor's a trooper....u make him a career yankee...i think he can do Mo numbers if not better.

Came in expecting not to see one mention of the best 2B any of you have seen in Chase Utley and now leaving feeling satisfied.
