Report: Miami PED lists revealed
Records from an anti-aging clinic in Miami list the names of prominent baseball players -- including Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera and Gio Gonzalez -- and detail performance-enhancing drugs administered to them and others, according to a report Tuesday by the Miami New Times.
The names were on records Miami New Times said were given to them by an employee who worked at Biogenesis of America before it closed last month. Miami New Times reported that the records show the firm sold performance-enhancing drugs, including human growth hormone, testosterone and anabolic steroids.
Anthony Bosch, the 49-year-old head of the clinic, was connected to Manny Ramirez when the former MLB star was suspended for 50 games for violating baseball's drug policy in 2009. Bosch has never been charged by local or federal officials.
Miami New Times said it conducted a three-month investigation before releasing its 5,400-word story online on Tuesday.
Saturday, ESPN's Outside The Lines reported that Major League Baseball was investigating multiple wellness clinics in South Florida, as well as individuals with potential ties to players. The report said that the area from Boca Raton to Miami is "ground zero" for performance-enhancing drugs still filtering into the game.
Rodriguez, the New York Yankees slugger who ended 2012 injured and on the bench during the playoffs, has admitted to using steroids from 2001-03, but he has said he has not used PEDs since. The New Times report said that Rodriguez's name shows up 16 times in the records it reviewed. Miami New Times reported that records indicated Rodriguez paid Bosch $3,500 for "1.5/1.5 HGH (sports perf.), creams test., glut., MIC, supplement, sports perf. Diet." There are other notations for Rodriguez as well, beginning in 2009 and continuing through last season. Rodriguez had hip surgery last month and is expected to miss some or all of the 2013 season.

http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2013-01-31 ... ames/full/The names are all included in an extraordinary batch of records from Biogenesis, an anti-aging clinic tucked into a two-story office building just a hard line drive's distance from the UM campus. They were given to New Times by an employee who worked at Biogenesis before it closed last month and its owner abruptly disappeared. The records are clear in describing the firm's real business: selling performance-enhancing drugs, from human growth hormone (HGH) to testosterone to anabolic steroids.
names of alleged mlb clients:
melky cabrera
bartolo colon
nelson cruz
alex rodriguez
yasmani grandal
gio gonzalez

Major League Baseball issued a lengthy statement Tuesday in response to the New Times story.
"We are always extremely disappointed to learn of potential links between players and the use of performance-enhancing substances," the statement begins. "These developments, however, provide evidence of the comprehensive nature of our anti-drug efforts. Through our Department of Investigations, we have been actively involved in the issues in South Florida. It is also important to note that three of the players allegedly involved have already been disciplined under the Joint Drug Program."
The Rangers issued a statement Tuesday, saying: "The Texas Rangers were contacted late last week by Miami New Times regarding the story posted this morning. At that time, the Rangers contacted Major League Baseball on that inquiry. The team has no further comment."
Gio Gonzalez issued a statement Tuesday that appeared in the Washington Times.
"I've never used performance-enhancing drugs of any kind, and I never will," the statement says. "I've never met or spoken with Tony Bosch or used any substances provided by him. Anything said to the contrary is a lie."

i combined espn new york's andrew marchand's tweets into one
Andrew Marchand @AndrewMarchand
A-Rod is being represented by Roy Black in this PED Case. A-Rod is denying everything.
A-Rod spokesman: "The news report about a purported relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Anthony Bosch are not true. Alex Rodriguez was not Mr. Bosch’s patient, he was never treated by him and he was never advised by him. The purported documents referenced in the story -- at least as they relate to Alex Rodriguez -- are not legitimate."

lock the players out until the union agrees to let these team void the contracts of these cheaters.
nobody cares about getting caught when they're getting a 9 figure payday.
take their money away and they'll quit.

buster olney actually talked about this earlier today and he used the example of melky cabrera.
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
Root of problem: Since being bad No. 4 OF for ATL in '10, Melky is positioned to make $21m --even after accounting for $ lost in suspension.
so they're getting paid more they ever would have had they stayed the course and the only consequence they get is a 50 game suspension. when you look at that as a baseball player who doesn't care about shaming the game, you'd have to say "hey, why not? i can play myself into a bigger contract this way and if i get caught the worse they can do is give a 50 game time out".
mlb's gotta tighten up.
Ryan Braun Linked To PEDs

i guess this could go in the other thread as well since they're related, you guys can move it if it's a problem.
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ryan-braun ... 50670.htmlMilwaukee Brewers star Ryan Braun's name is in records of the Miami-area clinic alleged to have distributed performance-enhancing drugs to a rash of baseball players, and Major League Baseball will investigate the link to the former MVP who tested positive for illegal synthetic testosterone during the 2011 postseason.
MLB is investigating the Biogenesis clinic and its operator, Anthony Bosch, to determine the breadth of Bosch's alleged PED dispersal throughout the sport. The league could pursue punishment through non-analytical positives – evidentiary links to players without positive tests – and one source said it will not limit the potential discipline to those whose names are surfacing for the first time, meaning those who have faced suspensions in the past could again be tried.
Braun is on a list that includes Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera and Cesar Carrillo, who the New Times reported received PEDs from Bosch. Also on the list are New York Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli and Baltimore Orioles third baseman Danny Valencia, who weren't listed near PEDs either. The record matches a document the New Times posted with Braun's name redacted and Cervelli and Valencia's cut off.
he got lucky before but he's going down now.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun's name is listed in the records of the Miami-based anti-aging clinic that allegedly provided performance-enhancing drugs to multiple baseball players, Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday.
Braun's name, however, is not listed next to any specific PEDs, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Miami New Times reported last week the Biogenesis clinic distributed banned substances to several high-profile players, including New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.
Yahoo! Sports claimed that it has obtained three Biogenesis records that show Braun's name. Braun is on a list that includes Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera, Francisco Cervelli, Danny Valencia and Cesar Carrillo, the website reported.
Braun tested positive for elevated testosterone levels in 2011, the year he was named National League MVP.

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-o ... l/21652256In the wake of the Yahoo! report linking, through acquired documents, the name of Brewers slugger Ryan Braun to the controversial Biogenesis clinic in South Florida, Braun himself has released the following statement:
"During the course of preparing for my successful appeal last year, my attorneys, who were previously familiar with Tony Bosch, used him as a consultant. More specifically, he answered questions about T/E ratio and possibilities of tampering with samples.
"There was a dispute over compensation for Bosch's work, which is why my lawyer and I are listed under 'moneys owed' and not on any other list.
"I have nothing to hide and have never had any other relationship with Bosch.
"I will fully cooperate with any inquiry into this matter."

jesus montero possibly up next:
Add yet another name to the ever-expanding list of players reportedly connected to South Florida biochemist Anthony Bosch. This time around, it's Mariners catcher Jesus Montero, according to the New York Daily News.
The Daily News reports that it has learned Montero is named in "records" from Bosch's anti-aging clinic. Now, let us commence with the proper disclaimer: Montero being named in records at the clinic doesn't mean he definitely used any sort of performance-enhancing drug -- though this bit of fact doesn't seem to prevent most from immediately jumping to conclusions.
Another bit of information some may deem as circumstantial evidence -- as noted by the Daily News -- is that Montero is a client of ACES, the agency run by Seth and Sam Levinson. One might recall the Levinson brothers are under investigation by Major League Baseball in connection with another client, Melky Cabrera, and the creation of a fake website in an attempt to get Cabrera out of a 50-game suspension last summer.
Then again, it's not like every Levinson client has been involved in PEDs.
Montero, 23, was traded from the Yankees to the Mariners last winter. He hit .260/.298/.386 with 15 homers and 62 RBI last season for Seattle. He has not previously been tied to PEDs at any time.

My thread was started 7 days before this one that I'm posting in & 6 minutes before the one you linked in the post above that I'm quoting.
It matters because of the RealGM board ethics. You've been a member long enough to know that it's not respectful to start a thread on a subject after another poster has started a thread on the very same subject. If you had something to add to the subject, you should have simply joined the discussion in the original thread on that particular subject, which was mine.
Typically, the mods take care of situations like this & lock the copycat threads. Considering the low traffic here, I completely understand why that was not followed in this case. The low traffic is the only reason that I began making threads on this board in the first place. I was attempting to contribute & help liven the board up, which is what Howard Mass & the mods here are trying to do, I believe.
That being said, you won't hear a peep out of me again regarding this subject. I simply wanted to call you out for the blatant disrespect that you showed. Carry on.

Dude, you're only chiming in with your BS because you're a Packers fan & we've had disagreements in the past. I remember you

.
There are no sensitivity issues involved whatsoever.
It's simply board ethics. The same ethics that have been used on every RealGM board since I began posting over two years ago, including your home board.
If you can honestly tell me that multiple posters can make the same exact thread on your board without every one of them, except the first one, being eventually locked, then I will listen to your criticism.
Exactly like I thought.....You can't. So STFU & mind your business.

No need to fix anything & don't worry about my feelings, boss. I'm cool just knowing that I made you & others aware of the BS that you pulled.
What I'm gonna do is simply depart this particular board & let you guys keep it.
EDIT TO ADD:
What's happening on this board

?
After witnessing that a second & third thread was created after the original, it literally took a request from the poster that made the second & third thread for the mods to do what they were supposed to do in the first place...smh. You guys should have just kept it the way it was & let my thread die, because I now see that it's a little RealGM internet clique on this particular board. Seriously?.....I'm out fellas. Enjoy your board.
