not a fan of the move.

i did think this would come for 2012, the year after the Posey injury...go figure.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Are they going to ban sliding into second to break up double plays, too?

Those collisions result in injuries more often than safe calls. This is one of the few rule changes in sports today that I would totally support.

I don't mind the rule if it is clear that the runner is going to be out by a mile. No point ramming into the catcher for no good reason since it usually ends up in someone getting hurt.

Catchers have to be protected since their focus is on the ball, not the runner

So any rule that prevents Prince Fielder from crashing shoulder first into another player is probably for the best

I was never really a fan of home plate collisions, so I don't mind the new rule
