@JonHeymanCBS
Halladay and Blue Jays will announce a 1-day contract at press conference so he retires as a Jay

sucks he wont retire with a ring.
guy should be 1st ballot....but i feel he's going to get hated on by voters for the years he played in obscurity in Toronto.
on a short list of guys for best pitcher of the 2000s...very short list.
maybe 2 ppl on the list tbh.
sucks the shoulder got him too....but i understand....who wants to continue to suck with no guarantee you'll ever get ur stuff back.

From about 05 to 11 Halladay was about as good as it gets and if he's not a HOF pitcher I surely don't know what qualifies someone to be one.

I basically echo the same things Quake and SSK said.
Doc was one of my favorite non-Yankees, even though he torched them regularly. If he some how doesn't make it in the Hall first ballot, the people who didn't vote for him should have their privileges revoked.
I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher take more games 6+ innings perfect/no-hit. I swear he did it every week. The man was a machine when he was at his best, and he was the lone horse that the Jays could rely on for the better part of a decade until he got dealt to Philly where he somehow looked even better. It's a real damn shame the Phillies' deals didn't work out and get him a ring. Though, it was actually nice to see him retire as a Jay.

Guy was so good, with so many plus pitches, first ballot no question in my mind.
Sad to see him go, in his prime he would put on a show like few ever could.
