Maybe we'll phone this series in with the Giants and just sweep the Rockies instead to do it.

Fine with me, I already know Dodgers got the NL West, just don't want them to do it at home

Braves fired their GM. Wow what a tankjob. To think we were actually tied with them for the division lead at the all star break.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

The Braves were only 5 or 6 back towards the end of August with an easy remaining schedule and they've been sprinting in the wrong direction ever since. I've never seen a more pathetic offense.

I've always liked Frank Wren, but Uggla and BJ Upton killed him. This will be at best a lateral move if Gonzalez doesn't follow him on the way out.

I guessed you didn't get a chance to see Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick, and the rest of the Oakland Athletics hit

I understand your A's have some issues, but they're 8-12 with 72 runs scored in September. The Braves are 4-15 with 38 runs...

...

...

:dontknow:

The Falcons scored 56 in 3 quarters on Thursday. The Braves won't match that by the end of the month.

Maybe the O's can catch the Angels for best AL record, that way there's a chance of Giants/Dodgers and A's/Angels in the championship games. California says **** off east coast bias.

Yeah, the braves have been pretty bad. wRC+ of 78 in the second half, only better then the D-Backs mostly without Goldy, and the Reds who were even worse than the Padres were in the first half of the season. They don't really compare to the A's who have been a top top offense for the year.

Does anyone really think Jeter is the greatest Yankee? I follow baseball and I haven't been bothered by the Jeter farewell tour. He was a huge part of my childhood. The myth of Derek Jeter makes him more significant then Scott Rolen, despite their career WARs. It's a bizarre subject to tee off on.

Also, ethered is the internet-thing I wish would disappear the most.

Derek Jeter is my favorite athlete ever. He's literally been a part of 3/4 of my life, as was Mo. Yet, even I know he's not the greatest Yankee of all-time. Not even Top 5.

I understand what Olbermann's point was, but Christ on a crutch, he needed to tone that one down. I've always enjoyed him for the most part, too. I remember watching him on Sportscenter in the mornings before I'd go to school. I got excited when he made his comeback to ESPN.

But, the rants he goes on sometimes can be drowned in moral superiority or just downright malice, and it gets tired quick.

All the media coverage and commercials and tributes are a bit much, even for a lifelong fan, but who the f*ck pissed in his corn flakes?

I don't remember him or others complaining when the same things were done for Chipper.
