Looks are subjective. That being said, she's attractive compared to anyone. Got a nice bod too. I couldn't care less about her political beliefs. If she gets some dental work done, then she becomes a real cutie.

Wow. A real cutie huh. Whatever floats your boat dude....

You know you can hate her for being a socialist and still find her attractive right? It doesn't have to be one or the other, dude.

To play a meaningless sport was my overarching point. This world's value system is ass-backwards.
Is it? Unless they're trolls, people on this forum like/love sports.
If sports is meaningless, what to you is a worthwhile diversion? Or are all diversions meaningless?

It's popular to crap all over lebron but this is an absurd take.

Both guys have whole lot of bolded numbers on their references pages, but one glaring thing for trout is the absence of post season stats. That's not entirely his fault, but im trying to see where you're getting at other than just another post to dump on lebron.

Baseball is a fascinating sport, in that almost every single action in the game can be isolated to the athlete doing it. The pitch, its velocity, spin and location, the batter's swing speed, angle, etc, on and on. Unlike basketball, which is enormously difficult to adequately attach statistics comparatively, we can evaluate almost everything an individual does at any moment vs what someone else does in the same situation. Mike Trout is simply the most talented position player, possibly since all-time greats like Stan Musial or Ted Williams. He's just a whole ton better than anyone else. You guys don't have to belittle the sport to see that.

It's a real bummer that Arte Moreno's deep pockets have never been able to pay a winning team while Trout is there. Even his absurd individual play simply cannot prop up the other 24 guys into a post-season the way that Lebron could. It's disingenuous to compare the two guys and their effects on a post-season when the sports are so fundamentally different. That said, it's too bad that he hit poorly in his only post-season appearance. The Astros are really good this year, so the Angels might miss the playoffs yet again.

You're talking about probably the indisputable GOAT in his prime.

Imagine Lebron but I guess even better. There is a pretty good chance a few NBA teams would have given 28 year old Lebron the same type of contract.

This is *only $35M per year, which means many NBA stars are already earning that or more than that.

Trout, for all intents and purposes, is worth that contract.

In the NBA today, which players are worth $35M Per today?:
James
Durant
Curry
Harden
Giannis
Westbrook
Kawhi
Davis
Embiid
Jokic
Doncic

What's crazy about that contract is the length of it. The $ per year is reasonable by today's standards.

I hate baseball, until the playoffs. Playoff baseball, especially the World Series, is intense.

Regular season baseball is beyond boring. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Are we sure about that? Trout is undoubtedly amazing, but it's weird how we pretend like Barry Bonds never existed. Mike Trout is not the undisputed goat. He's on the correct trajectory for sure, but he has a long way to go to catch guys like Ruth and Bonds.

There’s a strange dynamic in American sports around fame and how attractive the athlete is. Trout is GOAT caliber but kind of homely so he’s not nearly as famous as you’d expect. He kind of reminds me of Duncan in that regard.

Yeah, if he stays the course he very well could be the goat. He isn't there yet, he has a lot of baseball left to play.

Um, it's pretty hilarious how ironic this is.

Lebron is criticized for his lack of winning, yet you think Trout will be the GOAT when he hasn't even won a playoff game and he's 28 years old.

Not saying that Trout might not be the goat, but the arguments against LBJ can literally go against Trout except 10x harder.

This. Between this and the contract Harper was given out earlier, it is just sheer stupidity to argue these contracts are good value.

The issue isn't with money, but with the length and amount of years. Pujols was at the peak of his career when given a similar contract and his abilities declined the moment he signed on. Was he worth it? I'm sure everyone was arguing he was at the time. But 10 years is freaking 10 years. And this one is 12!

My guess is that contract will look like crap within 4 years. I don't care how good Trout has been, unless you have a crystal ball that spans into 2030, don't tell me this is a good contract. His numbers and decline could start as soon as this up coming season and then all this GOAT talk would look incredibly stupid. Trout doesn't even transcend the Sport. Who knows him outside of baseball fans? He isn't even a big name like A-Rod was so he can't even live off his brand if he declines.

12 years. Hahaha.

Pujols was 32 when he signed that contract.

Not arguing whether the players are worth these mega contracts but these contracts exist largely because of the system currently in place. MLB players really get screwed during the first 4-6 of their careers. Even the best players like Aaron Judge still get paid like sht before their arbitration years. It is not fair to screw the players of their first 6 year (early to mid 20s) and last 6 years (mid to late 30s) and think they should only be paid for 3-5 years of their prime career.

Part of what goes into a baseball contract is paying what they've already earned because baseball players are pretty massively underpaid early on and Trout was an MVP caliber player from his rookie year on.

Trout isnt the GOAT or even particularly close to it at this point.

Trout is on a career path that will easily put him on a short list of about 3-4 people as the greatest player of all-time, that much is true.
