More Playoff Teams?

What would the league do if they maybe expanded the playoff teams to 6 per league.
I think it would make it better becauase there are so many teams that are good that cant make the playoffs. It would lead to more upsets and more possibilities in the leaegue.
Its just so hard for teams that arent considered the elite (Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, Twins, Tigers, Angels) three of those teams wont even make the playoffs this year and I think that any of those teams could win the world series but some wont even get a chance.
I know its not gonna happen but what are some pros an cons and maybe even ways we can fit it in without expanding the season much further?

I think the present playoff format is fine as is, Baseball has the most exciting post season and I really don't want to see it watered down. Also giving the top teams a bye in this type of format can actually be a disadvantage as resting a week-10 games is not really practical in baseball.

As much as I would love to see the playoffs expanded for more teams, this format is working very well, and it won't change for awhile.

6 teams? So what happens when you get to the next round and there's only 3 teams? It's either 4 or 8.

You could have "bye-weeks" for the top 2 teams ala NFL

No. The playoffs already go into the first week of October when it's cold. No more. Adding more teams removes some of the importance of the regular season.

more teams=no more celebrating after clinching because they have a chance to get to the playoffs more often=no fun=some teams dont deserve to be there=etc.

id love for 6 to be in but teams get rusty therefore it wouldnt work and 8 teams would water it down to much.

Baseball has a 162 game season, now you add and extra round meaning that for sake of arguement a team could play 4 7-game series adding another 28 games to their already long season and like others said before me say a northeast team makes the WS, Boston, the NY's, Philly etc we'll be watching the ws with snow on the field. Not good totally not good. Next thing you know they'll want to move the WS to warm climate venue. If you cut back on the regular season games than maybe it would work. 8 teams would't be bad thats half the field in every league and its not like teams that don't need to be there will make it. It will still be quality postseason baseball.

There should only be 4 teams in the baseball playoffs.
But, I would really like if they made the seasons shorter (120), and the playoff series longer(best of 11). Right now, the first round of the playoffs is stupid, you play 162 games, and u can be out in 3 games, I don't like that much. But this will never happen, it just should.
