Sunday Night Baseball - Worst umpiring ever?

Post#1 » by treyZz » Mon Jun 11, 2007 12:49 am

Saturday in Soriano's first at bat gets drilled almost in the head. This was after his 3 HR night so clearly it was intentional.

Marquis could only go 1.2IP and was replaced by Sean Gallagher. In Gallagher's first ever ML at bat he gets drilled in the back. Yet no one gets ejected.

Now tonight Edgar gets drilled in the very first inning by Lilly and is immediately tossed.

There were no warnings before the game. Lilly gets booted, because the umpire "knew it was coming".

Edgar on first base steals 2nd going in hard and punches Cubs 2B Fontenot in the face. Nothing is done at all.

I haven't seen officiating this bad since the Wade treatment in the playoffs last year.

I agree.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

man that was just brutal . . . the league has got to review this case and hopefully punish the umps . . . the most rediculous excuse when asked why was lilly ejected, the ump stated that he knew it was coming, but he failed to issue warnings LOL what a dumb ass. And then they didnt eject renteria for punching fonty (one of the smallest players in the league) . . . do something bud selig or whatever ur name is . . .

Renteria was just showing him that he was "Sure" and not "Unsure."

Let the players take care of things themselves. :nonono:

Well, Lilly ended up taking Edgar out of the game anyways. Could've used him with the bases loaded instead of Chris "I can't remember the last time I did anything to help the team" Woodward.

I dislike Woodward almost as much as Reitsma.

Woah, bro. Good thing you threw that "almost" in there. Reitsma and Kolb are on their own level. At least we can still win a game Woodward makes an appearance in.
