Sorry but Carl Crawford does not deserve an all star nod.

Cole Hamels picked over John Maine is a JOKE. :nonono:

I think the AL did a good job. I really only have two issues with the roster. Carlos Pena needs to be on that team over Carl Crawford as the Drays rep. And Sheffield is having a better season than Grady Sizemore. I can understand Rios and Young, based on their teams needed to send somebody. I also think they nailed the AL pitchers.

The NL is a bit ugly IMO. I think Derek Lee is the third guy behind Pujols and Fielder. So I would have replaced him with Eric Brynes. I'm also having a hard time thinking that Hanley Ramirez and-or Edgar Renteria are not All-Stars. Fuentes and Hamels also have no business on the team. Chris Young and John Maine need to be on that team.

what are u nuts Hamels is way better then Maine!

How ABOUT Reyes over ROLLINS!

The  fans of the METS Unite and put a guy who only steals in the ALL STAR GAME

the stats don't show that hamels is better than maine. he does have a ton of strikeouts which is good but his ERA is an entire run higher than maine's.

and yeah, reyes only steals. he doesn't have a much higher OBP or a higher OPS than rollins or anything. and didn't he hit a homer during this series?

Reyes: Avg: 317 hrs: 4 rbi: 34 runs: 55 sb: 39 obp: 398 ops: 851 bb: 44 so: 44 2b: 16 3b: 8 RISP.. Avg 324 obp 437 errors 4
Rollins: Avg: 283 hrs: 13 rbi: 47 runs: 65 sb: 15 obp: 329 ops: 836 bb: 21 so: 47 2b: 20 3b: 10 RISP.. Avg 256 ops: 326 errors: 7

They both bat leadoff, reyes is faster, steals more bases, his avg is 34 pts higher, his obp is 69 pts higher, he walks more, strikes out less, has a better arm, is a better defender, and is better with RISP. At first glance, it may appear rollins may be superior, having more homeruns, rbis, runs scored, dbls, and triples, but they both bat leadoff, and reyes CLEARLY is superior in most of the categories that define a leadoff hitter. I mean his avg is only 12pts lower than rollins obp.. Ya, he only steals bases

Also if your boy hamels is so much better than Maine, why is his era OVER ONE full pt higher, and has givin up around 30 more hits in only 9 more innings (not to mention NINE more homeruns givin up). But i guess because he strikes out more guys, and was a top notch prospect, he MUST be the better pitcher? :wavefinger:

You come out saying your guys are better, yet cant back up any of it - clearly the definition of a homer.

McCann over Bengie?

What a joke.

I don't care if he's missed a bunch of games, Ryan Howard is too good to not be in the ASG. Of course, I still want Lee in though.

Matt Holliday not starting is a joke.

Pena and Shields both have a case over Crawford though. Plus, Maine and Young have both been Top 5 pitchers in the NL and didn't make it. Lame.

Hamels is a better player, like Reyes is a better player. I'll take Hamels any day to start over Mayne

nevermind just checked the numbers myself....Maine is a better pitcher on the road while Hammels appears to be better at home. Whoda thunk
