NL Rookie of the year

Post#1 » by ACGB » Mon Jul 2, 2007 1:18 am

I think it's going to end up coming down to Hunter Pence and Ryan Braun.
Of course I'm a homer so I'd take Braun :)

Troy Tuluoski from Colorado and Ryan Braun from Milwaukee and Mike Fontenot from the Cubs and Hunter Pence from the Astros are the 4 most deserving.

I like Lincecum a lot but right now there's no doubt Braun is the best rookie in the NL.

The numbers aren't backing you up on that one.

Braun- .346 BA, 7 HR, 25RBI, 30 Runs, 6 SB, 133AB
Pence- .340 BA, 8 HR, 36 RBI,32 Runs, 7 SB, 238 AB

Numbers are similar now but only because Braun has almost half the batting attempts of Pence

It's really not even that close.

Pence leads all rookies in hits with 91.

Second in the NL with a .347 BA and 4th in the MLB.
(which means he is hitting for a higher average than Jeter, Chase Utley, Vlad, and A-rod, just to name a few.)

Leads rookies in doubles with 22 and triples with 5.

Pence is clearly ahead of the others.

Braun is just off to a hot start and is on a hot team.

Mark my word, the Brewers WILL NOT win the central and Braun will NOT win ROY.

You do know Braun was a top prospect this year right?

If voting ended today it should be Braun.

Pence- .347/.374/.595/.969/11 HR/41 RBI/10 BB/50 K/7 SB/4 CS--262 AB

Braun- .342/.382/.645/1.027/10 HR/31 RBI/11 BB/34 K/8 SB/1 CS--155 AB

You don't hit .540 against left handed pitching by luck or being hot over 39 games , my friend.
