i was just reading the pedro martinez news that he pitched in a simulated game.
my question is, how does a simulated game works? are there batters and so?

Being a Cubs fan I know clearly what a simulated game is.
If there was a Hall of Fame for simulated games. Mark Prior and Kerry Wood would be first ballot Hall of Famers

I mean for the batters if they are healthy or for the other pitcher.
