Supposedly, the Reds and Braves are talking about a deal for Bronson Arroyo which I think is a TERRIBLE idea. Bronson has been good, hes had bad run-support, many blown saves, and questionable defense at times. Do not let his numbers fool you, he fell into a horrible stretch which he appeared due to arm fatigue. Anyway, the Reds starting rotation has nobody proven besides Harang and Arroyo at the moment. So why trade the guy? Its obvious we aren't in full fire sale mode.
On the other hand, Adam Dunn should be out of here before the deadline is over. We play in a HR hitters park thus whatever Dunn brings can be replaceable especially with Jay Bruce, Votto, and other young prospects in our farm. On top of that, trading the Strikeout King would enable to allow Norris Hopper/ Ryan Freel more time who are more of the scrappy hustlers that we need instead of either a HR, K, or BB from Dunn.

Some reports have Dunn going to Washington.
We will wait and see.

I see the deal as horrible for the Braves. Not smart to give up a great hustle player and a good young 1b in Thorman and a good young pitcher in Jo Jo.

I heard the names Escobar and Jo Jo but didn't hear anything about Thorman.
Wow the Braves are really trying to clean up their farm. They're letting a lot of their prospects go.

Most of the rumors from Braves camp were Thorman and reyes, then just reyes. I wouldn't do either since we need depth at the position, and giving up a mlb ready type player doesn't help us.
I don't think Escobar would leave for Arroyo unless we were getting a ton in return since he has been starting some at 2B and filling in some more at ss for renteria.

The Padres aquired Rob Mackowiak from the White Sox.

Unless Houston is looking to unload salary, they weren't going anywhere anyhow.

yes. But Pupura still sucks as a gm

The Padres have acquired Morgan Ensberg from the Astros, ESPN's Buster Olney reports.
Ensberg, Rob Mackowiak, Scott Hairston... we hope the Padres realize they're only allowed to carry 25 players at a time. Adding both Ensberg and Mackowiak seems to show how they don't have a lot of faith in Kevin Kouzmanoff.

25 minutes left...and Adam Dunn is still a Red. I don't see the logic behind keeping him. I'd certainly like to get a few prospects out of him. I certainly don't want to pick up his $13 million option next year.

Another good deal by the Padres, people underrate Ensberg and how gangster he is.
