Wow. Didn't expect that one, to say the least. He barely even got time in AA.

Wow, got to push them kids apparently. Quite suprised he got the call but he did tear up AA for a week. He is very very talented so we'll see what he can do. A lot of people get on him because he hits the ball on the ground a lot, see if that continues. Hopefully he somehow gets to play everyday.

How can you not respect and admire the Tigers organization with regards to young player acquisitions and development. They're definitely aggressive. Dombrowski, Leyland and Co. don't mess around. Verlander, Bonderman, Miller, Zumaya, Jurrjens, Maybin and soon to be Porcello.

If a kid can play...he's going to PLAY. That much is certain.

Wow I was totally not expecting this.

Can't wait to see him play.

Any idea on how much playing time he will actually get?

Well teams usually don't call up their top prospects to sit them on the bench, the idea is to get these kids ABs every single day somehow on some level. I'm not saying he'll play every single day, but I'd imagine they will make an effort to get him a lot of ABs.

Well, Marcus Thames got DFAd, so I'd assume that Maybin is starting in LF today.

Actually it was Craig Monroe who was DFA'd.

You got your black, massive K to very few walks, HR hitting, atrocious OBP outfielders mixed up.

I don't blame you. It's like they were seperated at birth.

Yes, Maybin is starting in LF tonight, he'll be hitting in the 2 slot and he'll be sporting jersey #4.

I wish the Cubs did this with their top prospect who is currently riding the bench.

Maybin reminds me of a young Vald Guerrero but with more speed.

I wouldn't trade him for anyone in the entire league at this point, Upton included.

Upton has all 5 tools, and could be the next after A-Rod to challenge the homerun record.

Upton and Maybin are both ridiculously talented, who cares who's better. I'd take either one.

Both are supreme talents, and you couldn't go wrong with either one. Cameron Maybin has braces. :-). It's really funny.

Eh, I've never seen Maybin play. Going by his minor league numbers, he looks great. He can do one thing better than Upton (again, going by numbers), and that is steal efficiently. Upton had a terrible SB% in the minors.
