The kid has got some nasty stuff and the Yankees are not going to miss a beat once he takes over Rivera's job.
Joba Chamberlain is amazing.

I saw Joba pitch for the first time last night, and all I can say is that I was in complete awe.

Now if someone wants to take a picture of each and combine them to see what Joan Chambraun looks like that would be outstanding.

(Joba's stint as a reliever is only temporary, by the way. He'll probably be joining the Yankees' rotation at some point next year.)
I was not aware that he was a MLB type starter. That would be scary to face him for 7+ innings.

As HC said, Joba will not be Mo's replacement. He was a 1st rd pick as a starter, dominated the minors as a starter, and became a top prospect as a starter. He's been clocked at 97-98 mph as late as the 7th/8th innings down in the minors this year, so he loses nothing as the game goes on.
Right now he is using strictly two pitches out of the bullpen, his fastball and slider. His curve is a really, really good pitch and his change is so so but he is using neither right now. If a guy is throwing 98 mph with that devastating slider (best in baseball???) and a curve that could develop into a plus pitch, even if he uses the change just as a show me pitch it can be very effective. Joba has some serious potential.

Brad Lidge has the best slider in baseball.
Ryan Braun disagrees. Sorry no more Braun talk it was set up perfectly though.
