Nope, it's fake.

Maybe. Although all of Colorado's infielders are way up there in RF. Helton leads NL 1B, Kaz Matsui is second among NL 2B. Maybe they have a huge groundball staff. And Garret Atkins is second-to-last among NL 3B, so maybe Tulowitzki just gets a couple extra balls that a normal 3B would get?
I just find it really hard to believe that he would be on par with Ozzie Smith, given that I don't recall anyone ever saying anything about his defense.
Last year he was basically average according to the only source that does minorleague defensive stats (i.e. take it with a grain of salt)

Remember the best defensive ss thread? I think I caught some heat for ranking Tulowitzki as high as I did, glad to see that number for all you stats gurus

I don't think one person badmouthed Tulo in that entire thread. Hell, I even ranked him second behind Everett, as did quite a few people.
Revisionist history only works when the records are spotty enough to challenge preheld notions.

Sorry maybe it was the one in player comparisons where I included Tulowitzki in the top 5 NL SS this happened.

So it's actually possible that Tulowitzki is actually having one of the greatest fielding seasons by a shortstop ever?

His defense is not talked about much at all (mainly because HE is not talked about much either because he plays for Colorado), but he is one hell of a player and his defense this year has been superb (clearly, to the surprise of many).
