I know this is controversial. But there are a number of players that people believe might have been users of HGH or Steroids during their careers. The single most likely IMO is Brady Anderson who had one year where he hit 50 homeruns in one season after hitting a total of 72 in the 7 seasons previous to that. I've also thought that Albert Belle probably was on steroids not because his power numbers so much as the fact that he was legendarily crazy.

Who else is a likely candidate?

Growth hormones aren't steroids.

And it's not going to be players who retired years ago like Anderson and Belle. How about Frank Thomas?

They are lumped together as "performance enhancing" although HGH is generally to help people get and stay healthy while steroids are a clear performance enhancement. But since, people like Arnold Schwartzenegger were on steroids in the 70's I can't understand why baseball players couldn't have been on them in the 90's. Of course that could just be me.

No, but it would pretty funny if he did because absolutely no one suspects him because he's always been really big.

Regarding this entire steroids thing, why does no one suspect players from the 60s, 70s and 80s of using them? They were using them in other sports starting in the mid to late 50s. Who says Hank Aaron didn't use them, for instance?

id be so crushed if thomas took them, ive loved the guy the past dozen years.

i just cant think he did, hell he played TE at Auburn when he was playing baseball. its possible b/c he did resurge after fighting injuries and his HoF status being questioned but i just would rather not think about it.

I was joking on the Ripken stuff guys, but yeah...that would turn baseball upside down.

As for Clemens, it wouldn't surprise me but I highly doubt it, the guy is a freak about working out.

from what i hear julio is a very hard worker and has a really weird diet where he only eats certain food and it doesn't even sound like normal people would enjoy that diet.
