he was arguing over a call with the ump and Bud Black restrained him by throwing him to the floor and he ended up injuring his knee somehow.

apparently this wasnt milton's fault....the first base coach for the pads said it was worst exchange by ump talking to a player in his 26 years of coaching

Meacham said after the game that Bradley did nothing to warrant the ejection or, in his opinion, the tone and the choice of words that Winters reportedly used.

"In 26 years of baseball, I couldn't believe my ears the way that he spoke to Milton was so disrespectful, so angry, so vindictive," Meacham said. "It was weird. The boiling point is when he called Milton a name. Milton did not saying anything to him to get him to do that."

Bradley said there was no reason why his conversation with Winters needed to escalate to the point where the outfielder was ejected and then subsequently injured.

"All I do is try go out there and play baseball hard. I've done everything in my power to do things the right way," Bradley said. "That guy, Mike Winters, no reason for it. You don't ride people. He kept talking to me, he wouldn't stop. Meach was standing right there. It's terrible, and now because of him my knee's hurt. If he costs me my season because of that he needs to be reprimanded. I'm going to take some action.

If you look at the replay you can see Meachem starts going after the umpire before Bradley so most likely the umpire said something stupid.

I really feel bad for Bud Black. He's obviously trying to protect his player and ends up hurting him quite badly.

Umpires do this all the time. They bait players into saying something to get them ejected and there is NEVER any accountability with the umpires. They NEVER think they are wrong and Bud does nothing about it.

its way too common now in the MLB.. it happend once in the NBA (crawford) and stern dealt with it.. i can remember not once, but twice after LoDuca turned around after the argument with an ump and was walking back to the dugout and then literally like 3-4 seconds later after it was over they threw him out.. i mean hes had his fair share of worthy ejections, but if the whole thing is done and a guy is goin back to the dugout with his back turned you dont throw him out..

A few weeks ago Geoff Jenkins got thrown out by the 3rd base umpire as he was walking back to the dugout. :nonono:

Exactly, earlier this year Prince Fielder was ready to go back to the dugout and the ump said something to him and Prince got mad at him and he got suspended for 2 games. Why don't the umps get any discipline? They are on a free ride here.

first of all, its not funny to laugh at ones injury IMO

second of all, i dont know wat the manager was trying to do, a player should be trying to restrain a fellow teammate

and 3rd of all, id like to know what the ump said, it was bad enough to even tick off the 1st base coach

I hear ya. I always see Umps jawing with players, unlike other sports where they keep quiet and keep order. A lot of times they even seem to get upset over little things like when a batter looks at them after striking out.

I was watching a Jays game this year on tv, and something had happened the inning before that caused a little controversy. When the Jays took the field again, the catcher went to talk to the home plate ump, an you could clearly here the umpire shout "Shut the **** up and catch!". To me that's just uncalled for.

I was watching the replay and you can clearly see the Umpire repeatedly saying " You gonna do something about it?? " . If the report is true that he called him a POS. Then he tries and Bradley to react to him. Their is no excuse for that.

Whats up with the Refs/Umps and their Egos??? Just call the game and go home. Stop trying to be important. I hope that ump gets suspended.

One other thing, I think they should mic up the refs. I am sure they would think twice about doing something like this. If they knew the league could listen to what they said later.

This is becoming a big problem in this game. MLB umpires can never admit when they're wrong, and in this case, the 1st base ump baited Bradley into this the whole time, and it was made extremely evident when the Padres first base coach was arguing with him before Bradley was. Then after that, crew chief Bruce Froemming (thank God he's retiring) said that Bradley was the cause and he had to be restrained and nothing the ump did was wrong.

Wow. I'd also like to know if Bradley actually threw his bat at the home plate ump his prior at bat or did something that resembled it, because that's what apparently started this whole debacle.

Umpires are always showboating. It's a **** joke. I don't know why it is so **** difficult to get an umpire or referee in any sport that is unbiased and stoic. In every sport you see these **** who blows plays, try to take over the game, etc.

Like, what is with homeplate umpires and their drawn-out strikeout calls? It's so unnecessary. Say, "You're out," in a neutral voice and pump your fist. None of this Leslie Nielsen moonwalk, roundhouse kick, elongated fistpump bull.
