Here come...The Rockies?

They've won 8 in a row, knocked the Dodgers out of contention, swept the Padres in SD, and now stand 1.5 games back of San Diego in the Wild Card. They face LA on the road, and Arizona at home. They may not make the playoffs this season since SD faces San Francisco and a fading Milwaukee team, and the Phillies play their final 6 at home against Atlanta and Washington, but Colorado is getting such little respect on what they're doing. If they do make it in, it might be enough to get Clint Hurdle Manager of the Year, and a suffering fan base a lot of hope for the near future.

For sure there is reason for optimism. Their pitching, unlike their entire franchise history, is looking up. Francis tied the franchise record for wins, plus they have some really good young arms in Morales and Jimenez, and a 24 year old Manny Corpas who could be the long term closer.
Their hitting speaks for itself, with Holliday being one of the best offensive players in the game, and Helton, Hawpe, Atkins, Tulo solid guys around him.
Probably not going to happen this year, but their future is promising.

I'd love to see them make it, and it would certainly solidify Holliday's MVP candidacy IMO.

Their playoff odds are still only 12%, but I hope they make it. We seem to do well against the Rockies and I'd rather not see the Padres rotation.

I watched their sweep of the Yankees in June and said this team was one of the best in the NL. It's nice to see guys like Tulo, Holliday, Atkins, and especially Helton in contention.

I want the Padres to win the division and the Rockies to be the wild card. I hate the Diamondbacks.

This is the Rockies time to do what they always do, win and gain some added attention, then get rocked. Similar to the sweep of the Yankees, only to get swept by the Jays and almost no-hit by a no-name pitcher. Woo team!

Rockies still have a chance to win the division with only 2 games back with the D-Backs coming to Coors for 3 games to finish out the season.
Webb is pitching tonight but people forget Colorado is pitching their ace as well Francis who is 17-8 has a better record than Webb's 17-10. Webb is also 0-3 vs Colorado this year while Francis is 7-1 all-time against the D-Backs.
I think the Padres win the division with Colorado winning the wild card as they win 14 games to finish the season out.

Yep it should be, the Rockies have become my 2nd favorite team outside the bluejays as they play some really exciting baseball and have a great future with Tulo, Holliday, Atkins and the young pitchers in Jiminez/Morales.

Hawpe and Corpas are pretty good as well, but im glad the Rockies are finally getting some attention nationally they are going to be a scary team if they make the postseason.

Ya It makes you think how good they'd be with a solid #2 pitcher or even a bonifide ace like Peavy, Webb or Young. Ya Hawpe is majorly underrated and has come up huge lately in the past few weeks. Really like the nucleaus of this team but still feel they will have to add another good pitcher to the mix at some point.
