Stolen Base in WS = Free Taco for Everyone

Post#1 » by WEFFPIM » Mon Oct 22, 2007 8:08 pm

Remember last season during the World Series where if someone hit a home run into the left field bleachers between a designated time during Game 3, everyone on planet Earth would be awarded a free cruncy taco from Taco Bell? Welcome to 2007, when apparently Taco Bell is struggling to get business, and Major League Baseball wants more of their fans to get e.coli.

When the first stolen base occurs during the World Series (which there has been at least one in every series since 1990), Taco Bell will announce a specific Tuesday and a time period in which anyone can walk into a store and ask for a taco for free. The president of Taco Bell said that this is a campaign to get more people to watch the Series because they will want to know if they get a free taco.

My thought. Tacos at Taco Bell are around $0.79 each. If you are tuning into the World Series depserately hoping that Willy Taveras or Dustin Pedroia steals a base, and you can't afford to run to Taco Bell and buy your own taco, then you shouldn't be owning a TV.

Your thoughts?

My thoughts are as follows: Taco Bell sucks.

And I'm not one of those high and mighty jerks who say that all fast food sucks. Quite the contrary, I'm an admitted fast food connoisseur who enjoys most chains to the point of obsession. So if I find Taco Bell disgusting, there is something seriously wrong with the food.

I once bought the entire Taco Bell menu, and ate everything except a salad and one taco. Now the only thing thats wrong with me is that whenever I see a sick cow, I pour nacho cheese on it.

I go through these phases where I crave Taco Bell or any other fast foods for a week. Then it stops out of nowhere.

Taco Bell is good once in a while. But, I never eat their chicken or beef there. Beans FTW!

Bit of fun fact for you. The term Gordita is actually Spanish for fat woman, so think about that next time you chow down on one of those.

Yeah. Just stood there for a minute to make sure I really saw that and then told them to give me my money back and left. I still don't get what the hell it was about. Did he not know I was watching him? And who does that anyway...

Anyone who's ever worked in fast food or some sort of sports bar/grill type restaurant.

Trust me, it happens everywhere.

I heard some bad stories from KFC from a couple of friends. Lets just say I'm going to pass on the coleslaw.

Can't say I've ever done it, but it has happened before where I worked

That place is owned by McDonald's :wavefinger:

As for the restaurant's and doing weird crap to people's ****. I have seen a couple thing, such as an ex co-worker use to dip his finger in the ranch, blue cheese, salsa, dipping sauce or drink before giving it to them. I also saw a cook drop chicken on the floor, pick it back up and cook it. The worst part is most restaurants are pretty dirty.
