Not much action on day 1.

Well, I dunno, at least there was some activity. The White Sox got Carlos Quinten from Arizona for Chris Carter who was a first base prospect of there's. I'm not sure if you'd classify that as major but it was a pretty decent move by the Sox. Then Elijah Dukes went to Washington I believe as well. I'm trying to keep up with all the rumors going around. Hank Blalock and Erik Bedard sound like they are being shopped as well.

Nationals traded reliever Jonathan Albaladejo to the New York Yankees in exchange for right-hander Tyler Clippard.
Apparently Clippard was like 6th in the Yankees farm system, and will most likely be put in the 'pen right away.

Please let Scott Rolen become a Brewer and please explore trading Ben Sheets.

The Marlins and Tigers are engaged in preliminary talks about a blockbuster that would send Cabrera and left-hander Dontrelle Willis to Detroit for a package of young players, according to major-league sources

I'm falling in love with Bowden. Another buy low by Jimmy. Clippard was pretty bad this year, but it 2005 and 2006 he was quite good, and he is still really young.

What star prospects can the Mariners offer? I wasn't very impressed by Adam Jones this year. Of course I didn't get much of a chance to watch him but his numbers didn't seem too good.

I'm sure they do, but they have no one to offer. Nathan will be traded most likely around the All-Star Break when the Twins can get the most value for him and making Neshek our closer.

You must not be impressed by a lot of players.
He hit .314/.382/.586/.968 with 25 homeruns in AAA this year as a 21 year old.

Sorry, I looked at his numbers for when he was with the Mariners this year, not Triple A.

Jones, Wlad Balentien, Brandon Morrow, and Carlos Triunfel are all up for grabs. The Mariners are also deep as a system in relief pitching and they have a couple of enticing fielding prospects in the lower minors. It's not a very deep system so Bavasi'd be selling roughly half the farm, but oh would it pay dividends.

The Orioles are going to be thrilled to hear this.
