Much like Azazel in Fallen the deadly spirit of Jason Neighborgall has found a new host unto which to wreak his awesome brand of havoc:

Noah Lowry was pulled from his start Monday after walking nine batters in one-plus innings against the Rangers.

This is getting quite alarming. Lowry walked three, hit a batter and threw two pitches to the backstop in his first outing last week. He had a couple of more sail to the backstop today. It appears that he's either injured or he's suddenly gone Rick Ankiel on the Giants.

Is this really surprising for a guy who walked as many as he struck out last year?

Don't let his 3.92 ERA fool you, the guy is terrible.

Look on the bright side though, at least he didn't allow a hit.

I thought Dan Bard was taking over for Neighborgall.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, did you see Porcello against Toronto? Just faced six major league batters; retired them all, struck out Frank Thomas and not a ball left the infield. Just out of high school.

Why? It's a draft pick. So few of them pan out that you can't fault someone for not making the ideal pick every single time.

Yeah, I hate the pick, hated it at the time, whatever. And I guess it would have been nice to draft Joba Chamberlain but whatever. Jason Place could be just as useless a player and he was taken right before Bard.

No no, not that. Signing Julio Lugo to a **** contract that gave up our first round pick that was in front of the other big spenders for the draft. The writing on the wall was for Porcello to drop because of bonus demands. I can live with not drafting Joba because of the questions as draft time but Lugo for Porcello angers my blood.

I am one of the few that still have faith in Bard. mahalo

Oh, yeah. Lugo sucks, but as for the writing on the wall? C'mon, who can predict where a high school pitcher who hasn't even thrown a pitch as a senior is going to fall in the next draft? In hindsight it looks foolish, but eh, whatever. Maybe the Red Sox would have passed on him anyway?
