The Tigers are 2-10

I know it is early but this loaded Tigers team is 0-5 with 3 losses to the lowly Royals and 2 to the decent White Sox.
I know they are battling early injuries to Pudge, Granderson, and others but it still surprises me that they started 0-5.

It's way, way to early to start whacking the panic button yet. The Rays and Orioles sit atop the AL East, the Marlins and Pirates are .500 at the moment, and the Cardinals are tied for the lead in their division.
And it all means squat.
The injuries are something to watch out for, but other than that, meh.

It's a little concerning that Cabrera, Sheffield, Pudge and Granderson have all already had injury issues. It's a long season and if they're hurting already, they could be in trouble.

The Cards are so legit and should be undefeated, damn mother nature taking away a win from us.

The Marlins are not .500! -- We are 3-2, 1 game ABOVE .500!

While their record means squat as HCYanks says, I'd be very concerned about that pitching staff.
Dontrelle Willis is a remarkably bad pitcher (7 walks to 0 K's? Amazing...) at this point, Nate Robertson is incredibly hittable and Bonderman sucked last year and hasn't shown signs of a bounce back year in ST or his 1st start. Kenny Rogers is 43 years old and probably a 3rd or 4th starter at this point and their bullpen sucks real bad with Zumaya and Rodney injured.
They'll turn it around and slug their way to a nice record eventually, but I didn't get the WS hype prior to the season and it looks even worse after seeing no signs of bouncing back from Dontrelle Willis and Jeremy Bonderman, who combined to strike out 1 guy in 12 innings while walking 9 and showing no improvement in their stuff, which declined considerably for both last year.

Yep.
Seems like at least one Tigers fan should way in on this particular topic.
The record itself doesn't concern me just yet, though we better start winning. Soon.
The poor offensive start doesnt worry me either. The injuries, seem, for the most part, to be minor. Sheff and Cabrera will shake it off, and we'll get Granderson back soon enough. With the guys we have the offense WILL begin firing on enough cylinders, and I think they'll do it soon.
The pitching, frankly, scares me to death. Im mostly talking about the pen, but the starters are massive question marks. Willis had no control in his first start, and it looks possible that this season could be more like his last season than his year 3 years ago. Verlander will get it together, but Rogers and Bonderman are old and inconsistent, respectively, and I just don't know if they can hold out an entire season as reliable starters. And don't even get me started on our 5th spot.
And the pen....
Rodney is gonna be out even longer than initially expected, and he was extremely rocky after coming off an injury last year. Zumaya is nowhere in sight (sad story, really), and Im not sure I still trust Jones as our closer.
IMO we need to look for another arm in the pen regardless of our current record. We may need to give up more than its worth, but if we don't the season could spiral out of control. Anyone have a spare arm?

I would say Chad Cordero on the Washington Nationals would be a good option. I know the Tigers have been talking to the Nationals about him.

^I heard about that too. Im really hoping thats not just a rumor.
We could use a guy like that. He only had one particularly good season, but he's a somewhat proven guy who we could use, and we're desperate for pen help. I remember a few years back with Rodney, Zoom and Jones we were nigh automatic carrying a lead into the 7th or 8th innings. Last year we were lucky to hold a 4 run lead, and this season doesn't promise to be all that different.
He just got sent to the DL though. I know nothing about his injury or how long he'll be out.

Detroit's hitting will eventually pick up, but at the end of the day their pitching is still crap. They may find themselves duking it out with the Chisox for second in the division and second runner-up in the wild card race.
