In a story that doesn't exactly qualify as surprising, it seems Tejada lied about his age.

They dont seem to mind...hmm I wonder if they will in a year. Wouldnt this be a valid reason to void the contract if they wished to

That was an hilarious interview. It's funny how Miggy was all shocked and surprised, so he just walked away.

People like that "Tom Farrey" are d-bags. The most important thing he has done in his career is help bust Miguel Tejada for being 2 years older than he really is. He has been one of the most durable players in baseball over his career.
If you want to bring it to his attention in private whatever, but it's stupid to tape it and broadcast it all over the world. Not that it wasn't funny.

What? It's called reporting facts. The fact is Miguel Tejada is older than his reported DOB claims. This isn't news you say?

I didn't say it wasn't news. But to trick him into giving you an interview and then just throwing that on him is pretty lame if you ask me. You can report the facts without embarrassing someone like that. (at least to that degree)
I don't care either way, I just think it makes him look like a punk.

Julio is only 35; he lied about his age when the Phillies signed him, as he knew that no team would give a large signing bonus to a five year old.

This was a disgrace by ESPN to totally blind side Tejada. Did anyone see this? I just happened to be flipping around and saw this go down. It is absolutely embarrassing, to do something like this to another person. Disgraceful. I've lost a lot of respect for ESPN.
Do you seriously think that they would do the same if this was Lebron? Oden? Wright? Evan Longoria? Santana? An absolute joke. Everyone knows that these players lie about their ages, this is what they are told when they sign with a club, to make yourself look like a better prospect. Would it shock anyone if David Ortiz is actually 35 instead of 33? or however old he is right now?

You think this will give them good ratings? With the cheap **** they just pulled I would say it's likely that people are driven away from watching their "entertainment."
