Gagne out, _____ IN
Eric Gagne is done as the closer and the Brewers are now going closer by committee. Now that Turnbow is gone is Torres the one that's the best option?

They're not going with one guy. Torres came in today, gave up a couple of base runners then went to Shouse to finish. I'm guessing it will mainly be Torres, Mota and Riske with Shouse and Stetter coming in if the matchups dictate it.

Closer by committee. Love it. Look forward to see how it works out with a guy like Yost at the helm. Brewers seem to have the talent available to make it work. I'd love to see an emergence of relief aces capable of going 2-3 innings 2 or 3 times a week instead of this 1 IP, only pitch when you are ahead by 3 runs nonsense.
Brewers seem to have the personnel to make it work at least passably well. Mota, Torres, Gagne, Shouse, Riske. That's a decent bullpen.
What in the world happened to Chris Oxspring?

Oh yeah, Yost is still at the helm. This is going to be a disaster. He'll start using Shouse thinking he can get righties out and then won't be questioned about it by the local media because I'm fairly certain they've never heard the term LOOGY.

What's up with the random name dropping?

He probably was sent back to the Japanese League. That's where he was before we got him.

Probably because he wasn't very good. He struck out nearly 10 per 9 but he also walked 4 per 9 and had a 1.39 WHIP. Not exactly someone you want to give a chance to while you're trying to win a division. Of course he would probably be better than Greg Aquino who Ned had a man crush on for some reason.

http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archi ... again.aspx
He says he's ready to close again. He just pitched the 7th in the game tonight with the Brewers leading 8-1.
He walked Troy Glaus to open the inning, got booed and then got Adam Kennedy to ground into a double play and then got Brian Barton to ground out to to SS. He was then given a standing ovation coming off the field. Fans are fickle like that.
Probably a good idea to not throw him back into the fire right away. This was the perfect game to get him some work.
Edit: I give the idiot credit in the last paragraph and then he sends him out for a second inning. Predictably he gives up a run before getting an out and now there are two on and one out. Bah Yost is such a dumbass.

Mota has arguably been our best reliever this year. He's been very solid.
Umm no. Check out the walks and WHIP and not just the ERA.
