Some good series to start the year. Phillies and Braves start it off at 7:00 on ESPN2.

Why do they still schedule games in cold-weather climates? There are enough warm areas to play the first couple series, no?

We have a snowed out game in Chicago. How stupid is that.

If you play north of Baltimore, no home games until April 15.

Meanwhile the Rays open in Boston where the temps aere expected to be in the high 40's and wet.

How in the hell is this smart?

And thanks to the WBC, the World Series will be played in November. It will be very cold in places like Boston, NY, and Chicago.

Didn't rain sort of screw up Opening Day last year too?

I remember Opening Day 06 being a picturesque day in Boston. That we don't get that every year proves there's no God.

Lowe looked very good tonight, and obviously so did Schafer with that homer.

I agree with the first part. The last part is confusing though. You would need some games north of Baltimore since that's where a few teams with domes play. Seattle, Minnesota, Toronto and Milwaukee.

Houston
Milwaukee
Florida
Atlanta
Arizona
San Diego
Los Angeles
San Francisco or St. Louis. They both usually have decent weather this time of year.

Tampa Bay
Toronto
Minnesota
Los Angeles
Seattle
Texas
Oakland or Kansas City

Enough teams in each league to make it work.

CC is struggling today at Baltimore. No strikeouts through 5 and the Yanks are losing 4-1.

Orioles beat Yankees 10-5.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
