Eric Young on Baseball Tonight = Epic Fail
Seriously, he sounds like a guy who just swallowed helium. -- They miss Harold Reynolds BADLY.

Re: Eric Young on Baseball Tonight = Epic Fail
Yeah, I watch MLB Network's version of BBTN, and am definitely enjoying the real insight they give, but they still don't have a Tim Kurkijan or Peter Gammon who for some reason I enjoy listening to.
btw, what happened to Salisbury? He got let go by ESPN?

Re: Eric Young on Baseball Tonight = Epic Fail
salisbury was let go, he claims it was mutual, but id say a lot of it was him showing off a picture of his dick to a bunch of females at a local hangout in bristol. he currently hosts a sports talk show in dallas w/another hack nbc sports reporter.
and it's not like harold reynolds is anything special, not particularly incisive and throws out the same mindless cliches all the other sapps at espn do.
but i'll agree w/you about kurkjian and to a lesser extent gammons. it's a god damn shame rob neyer doesnt get more face time, funny how he's probably the best thing that site has going and yet he's one of the least recognizable.

I really liked Harold Reynolds. He wasn't necessarily the one with the most insight, but he told it like it was.

I love the That's Nasty segment where they have the inset of Orestes Destrade or whoever in the lower right with his amazed facial expression as some slurvy slider falls out of the strikezone. Like it's the first time he's ever seen a slider.

It maybe, but it's not half bad if they can rid themselves of Kruk and Young, and incorproate more of Gammons/Neyer/Kurkijan.

Re: Eric Young on Baseball Tonight = Epic Fail
They should have Neyer on there as much as humanly possible because he's the only decent balancing force ESPN has to practically everyone else on staff. I respect Gammons for his overall career but I think he's gradually going off the deep end and Kurkjian is way better than the likes of Krukkie and Phillips but he still comes out with wacky opinions here or there. Outside of that awful list of players to build around a couple years ago, Neyer's been consistently good
The truth is the best step ESPN can take is to recruit ex-ballplayers and people inside baseball that aren't cliche-spewing retards.

As much as some dislike Destrades, he's MUCH better than Kruk, IMO.

Re: Eric Young on Baseball Tonight = Epic Fail
That is why I like Peter Gammons and surprisingly Steve Phillips, because they give the fans what they want: knowledge, entertainment, insight, Eric Young isn't really that funny to me and rarely provides good insight.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.
