Utility players pitching.
I just watched Jonathan Van Freakin Every give up no runs. The same guy who the night before one the game for the red sox with his bat and his glove.
We saw swisher do it. I believe another team did it as well. Reminds me of when the dolphins tried the wildcat, and everyone started copying it.
Not complaining, I like it. Use these guys for mop up roles, save your pitching.

Mentioned this in the game thread, Cody Ross got thrown on the mound vs. the Phillies and he didn't do half bad.

It's been done for years....more so early on this season.
Conseco blew out his arm in a mop up role way back when.

Yeah, I understand it has been done, so has the wildcat before. But this past season is when it took off. The question is will this take off.
That canseco one was used on the old blooper VHS tapes

Maybe in the 14-2 games, can't see where it would hurt anything as long as you aren't using a 40 hr OF'er to do so....lol

It should take off. Anytime you're up or down by 8 runs and there are 2 or fewer innings left what harm is there? MLB hitters aren't really prepared for 82 MPH heat and if they're really hittable after a couple guys, just bring in the real pitchers.

Apparently Ichiro can throw a mean pitch. I hope to see it one day.

He also apparently launches homers in BP. Smart baseball people have said that if he ever entered the Derby he'd win it.
