I think the Angels will give all the Yankees can handle. But in the end the Yankees are just too deep and win in 6.

Well that's not happening but Angels will make world series. Phillies/ Angles world series.
Angels in 6.
I really underestimated the Angels last series. They looked like a team possessed and they are just a great team overall.

Looks like you are underestimating the Dodgers too. I see no reason why we can't see a Freeway series after these 2 end.
As for this series I think the Angels will take it in 6. Yankees might have a stronger lineup offensively, but if you look at the season stats between the two they are both very close and are 1-2 in most categories. Angels will continue to be underrated as game 1 gets closer so it will be interesting to see how they respond and how the media will react if CC gets lit up and the Halos take game 1.

Re: ALCS: Yankees vs. Angels
Dodgers are a damn good offensive team but Phils are also a damn good offensive team and have a deeper lineup than Cards did and Lidge has looked good to start off and has plenty of postseason experience. Phils also have Lee who's started off good, Hamels who can be terrific, Blanton who was a beast last year in the postseason and Pedro sitting out there ready to start, not to mention Happ. Lee and Hamels' potential not to mention that Phils have deeper lineup + bullpen than Cards did are the x factor that I think give them the edge over the Dodgers.

I think the Angels bullpen will be their downfall. In every other facet of the game I feel the 2 teams are pretty evenly matched.

It's possible but they surprisingly got off to a good start. Yankees would probably have this year if it were not for Angels. I really underestimated them. They look like they're on a mission and they're in a real groove. But so do Yankees. Angels probably just want to win for Adenhart.

I think in all honesty you probably overestimated the red sox too. I think most did. I didn't expect the Angels to sweep but I did pick them to win the series. They have been the better team for most of this season.

Re: ALCS: Yankees vs. Angels
The Angels catchers had a terrible percentage on throwing out base runners. They are at only 19%. I hope the Yanks are prepared to run on them also. Their bullpen was also the 4th worst in the AL at 4.49

I'd take the bullpen stats with a grain of salt. The bullpen was shaky during the regular season with Mike trying many combinations of players. The ones who are currently on the playoff roster are much better then the regular season average would have you believe. Remember Boston was supposed to have a huge advantage over the Angels bullpen as well and we saw how that turned out.
Oliver, Bulger and Palmer while far from household names, all ended the year with ERA's ranging from 2.71 - 3.56. Jepsen is the only relief pitcher on the playoff roster with a high ERA of 4.94. Fuentes(while no hand of god) still led the AL in saves.
Can't wait till friday!

Re: ALCS: Yankees vs. Angels
fuentes is horrible. closing out the red sox is probably the only save i can remember where he didn't load the bases and give me a heart attack.

Re: ALCS: Yankees vs. Angels
Joe Saunders road era is a run higher on the road than at home. He pitches to contact & gave up 29 homers this season. He is pitching game 2.

Re: ALCS: Yankees vs. Angels
Vinny do you realize that the SB dynamic probably completely changes for both teams on what they do at catcher? If Girardi goes with Posada or if Angels start Mathis the Angels have the edge. If Girardi starts Molina, no doubt the Yankees do have the edge there.

I am pretty confident that Girardi will start Molina in game 2. That's the word out of NYC, anyway.
