NLCS: Phillies vs Dodgers

Post#1 » by cold5 » Wed Oct 14, 2009 1:22 am

I'm going with Phillies in this one. It will be interesting to see both rotations. Torre should let Billingsley get a chance and Manuel needs to let Pedro and Blanton get chances, they have both pitched well against dodgers and have great postseason records.

And Phils website has Happ going for them in this series. It's not official yet but I don't get why you leave a guy who was a tremendous pitcher in the postseason last year for you out of your rotation.

I suggest you watch more baseball. Maybe throw in a grammar lesson or two.

wa wa internet spelling/grammar patrol.!!!

Victorino and Posada are huge babies, and borderline punks, and a bad teammate to boot(posada).

Phillies are getting a gift of a strike zone. Ryan Howard specifically.

I disagree with Oak. I don't know if Posada is a good teammate, I'm not in the clubhouse every day but there haven't been any seemingly bad vibes about him. His problem is just that he is a bad defensive catcher.

Manny being manny. that pitch was a low changeup with a late break, and probably not the ideal pitch to hit a home run on. but he still somehow managed to hit it.

Pretty much. I've never read anything bad about him in regards to being a teammate.

That was just an awful coaching job by Charlie Manuel in the 8th inning. Why did Madson just not start the 8th? Too bad they lost a dominate performance from Pedro.

I don't know why Torre went with a guy who hasn't pitched in at least a month in the middle of the postseason and skipped Billingsley, makes little sense. Especially against Cliff Lee. Dodgers are going to have to hope for a bullpen collapse here.

Huh. If Blanton throws well tomorrow, I will have called the Phillies well. I called Pedro and he threw terrific and I called Kuroda sucking. But Yankees series to this point, I haven't called well. But I think if Lee continues this way, Phils will win it all.
